Last month I attended a conference. The topic in that Bible Study was, "How to raise a Christian family and how to reflect Christian qualities from our lives." As the talk continued the guest speaker gave an impression as if all the Christians should leave their luxurious lives and lead a poor life. He gave an example of a person who had only a small hut in India who came to USA and built a big luxurious house. At the time of inauguration, the pastor praised God for lifting that humble man to this height. And the guest speaker said, "It is not the right thing to do." One person got angry and asked a few questions and then he continued, "I do not want my children to be in a poor state." So the guest speaker asked, "what do you want for your children? How they should be?" The person said, "I want to see my children in good positions and not begging in the streets." This is the heart of a father. A father does not want his children to be in bad shape but he always wants to see his children in higher positions, exalted among others and live a good life. God has the same heart for His children. God wants His children to be in peace, full of joy, exalted, honored, live in dignity and lead a good life. God says in Jer 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Today many are out who do not know what is in the Bible nor do they know the God of the Bible. They only teach wrong things to others who live in misery and pain. But if you have known God as your father, He provides a better and bright future for you. He will not allow you to beg in the streets but He will provide for you from His rich treasures. David recalls the goodness of God in Psalms 37:25-26 and says, "I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed." Yes, God will not forsake His children but He will bless them and make them prosperous. But the million dollar question is, do you know God as your Father? Bible tells us that Jesus who created the whole world came to this world to His own people but His own people did not receive Him. Bible says further in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." When a person accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, Jesus gives the right to that person to become God's child. Being His child you can enjoy all the blessings of the King of kings family. You need not to live in misery, pain, sorrow, tears and heartbreaks because Jesus took all our burdens, all our sins on the cross to give us peace, unspeakable joy, love, happiness and blessings. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please pray this prayer with me: Dear God, I believe that Jesus came in this world to deliver me from all my sins and from my miserable life and to fill me with heavenly peace, joy and happiness. Please forgive and forget all my sins and receive me in your family. Today I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for listening to my prayers. I pray this prayer in Jesus name amen. We wish all the dads out there a very happy and blessed father's day. May you know God as your father and may you reflect the love of father God to others.
Benefits of Knowing God as Father
There are so many blessings and benefits in knowing God as Father. You need not to bear your burdens alone but if you are a child of God, you have a Father with whom you can share your sorrow, joy, tears and your burdens. He will be with you always: Jesus promised His disciples in Mat 28:20, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." No matter what you go through in your life, He will be with you. In Isaiah 43:2 God said, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you." There are times when we face trials and tribulations. There are times when storms rage against us. There are times when we have to go through fiery furnace but if you are a child of God all these things will not destroy you. He will bring you out of it triumphantly. He will not allow you to die in the half way. He will go before you and show you the way:Once a person was going through the deep forests of Africa. As he was passing by he reached a place from where he could not see anything further because of the thick forest and trees standing shoulder to shoulder. In fear he cried out, “where is the way?” The guide who was walking just in front of him said, "don't worry, just follow me." The man did exactly what the guide said and finally he came out of the thick forest. If God is your father, He will walk before you and show you the way. You need not to worry about the problems on your way. Leaving everything in the hands of God, you can come out of your problems because He will show you the way. If there is no way, He will make it for you. He will watch over you:If you are a child of God, He will watch over you and will not allow your foot to be moved. He will keep you in His mighty hands and protect you from all evil. He will hold you:God has promised some great things in Isa 41:10-14, "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Behold, all those who were incensed against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them; Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing. For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you. Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you," says the LORD And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel." If you are a child of God, God will uphold you in His mighty arms. He will protect you from your enemies who rise against you. He led the Israelites through the wilderness and Bible tells us that no one could ever stand against them. Kingdoms which were mightier bowed before them. Why? Because God held them with His mighty arms. The same mighty God can do mighty things for you and for your family. Come to Him and give your life to Him. Make Him your father and take His blessings.
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 10th Aug. 2010
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 10th Aug. 2010
