Today we see so much chaos, violence, fighting, tragedies, natural disasters and turmoil in this world. If you look around, you can see and feel the brokenness for yourself. Half of the world do not have enough to eat while others have so much that they do not know how to use it. So many are dying everyday around the world and the world does not have a solution for all these problems.Not only in the material world but also if you look in the spiritual world, you can see the same chaos and turmoil. Liberal theology and many different views and theologies are sweeping the world. It is slowly removing the true message of Jesus Christ from our Churches. And the most amazing thing is that even theologians are discussing whether alternative lifestyle like homosexuality is an option for Christians or not? Very often it sounds as if whether these theologians have ever read their Bible or not. They even do not know that the homosexual lifestyle is an abomination in the sight of God. The standard of churches are deteriorating. According to some survey it shows that in America, 95% of those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior are under 25 years of age. In the year 1990 there were 86% Christians but it dropped to 77% in the year 2001. If this trend continues then by the year 2035 America will be without Christ. If we trace back, we can find the same type of corrupt, rebellious theologians at the time of Jesus in the Old Testament days. Jesus was sick and tired seeing those people. In Luke 4th chapter we read that when Jesus spoke plainly and bluntly about their sinful nature, they themselves proved that statement to be correct by their own reaction to what Jesus spoke. Jesus told them that there were many widows in Israel but Elijah was only sent to the widow of Zarephath in the region of Sidon and there were many lepers in Israel but only Naaman the Syrian got healing. When they heard all these things, they got very angry. Further Bible tells us how they tried to kill Him. Luke 4:28-29, "So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, they were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff."Not only were they living in sin but when they were told about their deteriorated condition, instead of repenting, they tried to kill Jesus. That was the only weapon they knew - just to silence the person who is talking about their true condition. Today also we can find this type of theologians and people around us. But look at the love of Jesus. Though people tried to kill Him, though they insulted Him, though they mocked at Him and called Him with bad names, yet He preached among them and wished for goodness and blessings for them. Once when He came near the city of Jerusalem, He wept thinking of the coming destruction of Jerusalem as we read in Luke 19:41-44, "Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."This was the heart of Jesus, who though they persecuted Him yet He loved them and wished good for them. Today also He loves us and wants to see our lives blessed with His goodness and blessings. Are you in the midst of chaos, turmoil? Are you rebelling against God? Are you living a homosexual lifestyle, still Jesus loves you and wants to redeem you. Repent from your sins and turn to God. Give your life to Jesus, He will forgive and forget all your sins and will give you a new life.
Heb 9:22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Bible says that only through the blood of Jesus, salvation or redemption could be obtained. There is no other way for obtaining salvation. And for Salvation pure and holy blood is essential. That is why animal sacrifice was not the perfect way for purging sin. So the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ the most holy and pure God was needed and God sent His only begotten son Jesus to die on the cross for you and me. Unfortunately there are many theories that you can reach heaven by various ways like:1. By good works2. By helping the poor3. By doing charity work4. By love and peace5. By being born in a Christian home, or by going to churchWell good works does not make one a holy person because there are no such thing like good works. What you and I do is just rubbish in the sight of God. God does not see the so called “good works” as good work but He sees it as dirty rags. Isa 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. So yes good works does not help anybody to reach heaven. The so called Love and Peace what we call and see in Christian world is another rubbish. The people who talk much about love, do they really love others or care about them. I am afraid they do not. Rom 12:9, “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” If you really love somebody you will warn them from the coming danger. If you find your loved ones stealing, you’ll tell them, “don’t do it you may end up in jail or in the spiritual sense you may end up in hell fire.” If you see your loved ones cheating, lying, planning to kill somebody you will certainly warn them or try to prevent them from doing such things. That is called true love. But instead, if you are cooperating in it to show that you love them is not love but hypocrisy and sin. Bible says, let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. It means, love your friends but do not involve in their evil deeds. If you love somebody it does not mean that if they are stealing you also steal, if they are cheating others you also cheat, If they are making money by illegal ways you also do it. Certainly not. Involving in illegal activities with others is not called love but sin. To make peace with others closing your eyes upon their evil deeds or involving in their evil deeds is sin and that is why Bible calls it hypocritical love. Recently I saw a Christian program in which they took interview of many people. They asked the question, “what do you think what is after death.” Different people gave different reply. Here are some of them:One said, “I think after death there is heaven because now we are in hell (this earth is hell).Another said, “There is no heaven or hell. There are no such things.”Another said, “After death we will become tree.”Another said: After death good people will go to heaven. Question: Are you a good person?Ans: Yes I am.Q: Do you steal?Ans: Yes.Q: Do you tell lies?Ans: YesQ: So you are a liar and a thief. Do you cheat?Ans: YesQuestion: So you are a liar, a thief and a cheater do you think you are a good person?Ans: Yes I am, because I am not killing anybody, I am not doing robbery or dacoity.Well many people think in the same way. They think that they are good people because small lies, cheating, stealing, backbiting, drinking etc. is not sin. Don’t they? What about you? Bible says that even if you tell small lies you will end up in hell fire. Rev 21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." All the above said things including helping poor, or by being born in a Christian home cannot help you to reach heaven. Helping others is a noble work I am not against it. My family helped many and spent thousands of rupees (Indian currency) on people who were in dire need. We never even asked them to return the money nor they did. But helping others does not guarantee heaven in anyway. Bible says that only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ that we can reach heaven. There are no other ways. When Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying and eating the fruit of forbidden tree they found that they were naked. Gen 3:9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" Gen 3:10 So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." Gen 3:11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?" Before sin they were not afraid, they were not ashamed. But sin brought shame and guilt in their life. They not only did sin but they fell from the glorious state where they had constant fellowship with God. The consequence of sin is death and death came into this world. Yes sin brings shame, disgrace, and death. The soul dies (spiritual death) due to sin and it cannot be revived by any other means than by the blood of Jesus. What God did in the garden of Eden? He slew an animal and clothed them with it’s skin. Gen 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. Please note that blood was shed there to hide their shame. The same thing Jesus did for you and me on the Calvary. He shed His precious and pure, holy blood to redeem you and me. He paid the price so that He can hide our guilt and shame and sin which brings eternal death. Have you ever thought about it? Have you ever said, “Jesus please wash me with your precious blood and make me clean even whiter than snow?” Without blood covenant you can never enter into heaven. What the precious Blood of Jesus does? Blood of Jesus brings Salvation, eternal life, purging or cleansing of sin, peace, joy, happiness, protection and many other things. Here we are going to see few of them.1. Salvation2. Peace, joy3. Protection1. Salvation:When the Israelites were in Egypt, on the night when they were about to get out of the land of slavery God spoke to Moses and gave some instructions. He said, “take a blameless and pure male lamb and slew it and put the blood on the door post and lintels of the houses. And when the death angel will pass through the land wherever he will not find the sign of blood he will slew the firstborn of man and cattle of that house but when he will see the blood he will Passover it and death will not come to that house.” Exo 12:7 'And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. Exo 12:12 'For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.’ Exo 12:13 'Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.Bible says that whoever obeyed this command and believed in it and put the blood on the doorposts and lintel of their house they all survived but the Egyptians who did not do anything death came to each and every house. The same thing is applicable for us also. Jesus became that Passover lamb. He shed His precious blood on the cross and fulfilled the work of redemption. But the choice is left for you and me. The rule is that if you believe and put the blood of Jesus Christ on your heart’s doorpost you can survive from hell fire. If not eternal death will be waiting for you. When you and I will stand before Christ He will look for the same thing. If you are a blood washed person He will take you in heaven but if He finds no trace of blood of Jesus on you He will leave you for eternal damnation. The choice is ours what we want to do. The people who say, “Jesus did everything two thousand years back so we are free and we don’t need to do anything is a total lie. Jesus would not put blood on your doorpost but it is you who need to do it. It is you who need to come with repentant heart to the cross, it is you who needs to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and forgiveness of sin. Jesus would not repent for you but you are the one who needs to do it. So don’t get confused and don’t let the opportunities and time run out from you. Yes the process of Salvation is that simple. You don’t have to torture your body, nor have to do hard rituals to go to heaven but a simple prayer which comes from the bottom of the heart does all the work. I still remember I did not do a long and beautiful prayer. I said with contrite and broken heart, “Lord Jesus I do not know how to pray and how to get saved but I really want to reach heaven.” That was it, Lord heard that simple prayer and changed my life. Salvation comes only through the blood of Jesus. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.2. Peace and Joy:Blood of Jesus not only cleanses us from all our sin and unrighteousness but it brings joy unspeakable and peace which world cannot give. Joy, Peace, happiness are a bi-product of Salvation. We hear everyday about depression medication on TV. I believe that you cannot eradicate depression by medication. That is why we hear often that such and such person took depression medication and later committed suicide. Only God who created you can treat your depression and mental agony nothing else. If you want to beat depression and stay happy there is only one solution and that is called Salvation. The blood of Jesus cleanses all the sin, guilt and shame and instead of it He gives peace, tranquility, calmness, and joy. Please read more about depression in my previous article: “How to beat depression”3. Protection: Blood of Jesus brings protection in our lives. Exo 12:13 'Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” This verse says that whoever applied the blood on their doorposts and on lintels were safe and received protection. The same things happens when you apply the blood on you and your kids, your house and your belongings. The divine protection comes. When the demons see the blood they tremble and run away. If you are not a blood washed person, if your sins are not forgiven and if you think that Jesus’ blood has never been applied on your heart’s doorposts, it is the best time to receive it. If you really want to reach heaven and want divine protection in your life come to the foot of the cross. If you want peace, joy and happiness which bubbles all the time even in the midst of problems and troubles then come to Jesus. Please pray this prayer from the bottom of your heart.Prayer: Lord Jesus please come into my heart. Wash me clean with your precious life giving blood. Forgive and forget all my sins. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I surrender my life to you. Please come into my heart and live forever with me. When I close my eyes in this world keep me safe in your home in heaven. Thank you Jesus for listening to this prayer. I pray in Jesus most precious name Amen.
Encounter with God: Will it be a mysterious, horrifying and excruciatingly painful thing? Once I wrote about Muhammad like this, "When Muhammad started getting revelations from so called angel Gabriel he became suicidal and thought to kill himself. A great fear came in his heart and he was so confused that he was not even sure what he was getting and from whom?" Muslims said, "so what, Mary, Zechariah and others also had the vision of angel Gabriel in the Bible."But if you compare the experience of Mohammad with the experience of those who had an encounter with angels or with God in the Bible are completely different. Let us take the life of Mary. In the book of Luke 1st chapter from 26th verse onward we read about how Mary had the vision of angel Gabriel. Further we read in Luke 1:28-35, "And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end." Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible." Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her."Let us see what happened after seeing the vision? Did it bother her, made her confused, suicidal or in great pain? We do not see those symptoms in her life instead she was rejoicing and magnifying God with her songs. That was the time of great joy for her and for Elizabeth in whose house she visited. Her song itself tells her mood that she was in great spirit. Here is her song written in Luke 1:46-55, And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever."She was not only rejoicing and was filled with gratitude towards God but also she knew from whom she received the message and who was her God and Savior. But if you look at the experience of Mohammad, you can clearly say that he had no such experience. He was completely devastated after seeing the so called angel Gabriel and he wanted to end his life at any cost. In the book of Exodus 3rd chapter we read that Moses had an encounter with God. Was that matching with the experience of Mohammad? No, not at all! Though Moses spoke with God everyday face to face yet he never felt uneasy, horrified or suicidal in his heart. He had the peace and joy which comes from God alone. I can tell you hundreds of true stories of people who met God in their lives and they are more happy than before. An encounter with True God is not a horrifying experience but a moment of rejoicing and of great joy. At the age of sixteen I met God in my life. He changed my life, He filled me with unspeakable peace, joy and happiness that world could not give me. We had everything in our life, money, status, big home to live, servants to work at home and vehicles to move around but our lives were empty and meaningless. Those things could not give us peace that we desperately needed in our lives. But when we met God, He filled us with peace that passes all understanding. In these years, I have seen many troubles, death threats, sicknesses, financial crisis and other problems yet the peace and joy that God filled our hearts did not go away. Every time He brought us out of trouble and gave us triumph over our situations. He never failed us a single time. Yes, an encounter with God is an awesome blessing. Jesus said in Mat 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Are you weary, tired and completely broken in your life? Come to Jesus and give your life to Him, He will give you peace. He will wipe away your tears and fill you with the joy that world cannot give.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
