Last week was more difficult for us than previous one. As I wrote in my last week's editorial that my dad is in hospital and was very weak. He was losing his strength continuously. On Saturday night and Sunday he was looking very lethargic and tired. Though we inquired some of the nurses about his condition they told us that, he is very weak otherwise he is not having any problem. One nurse asked us that whether he had written any last will to continue in this condition or not? Whether he wanted to be put in the ventilator or not? Hearing those statements our hearts sank. At the time when we were leaving the hospital on Sunday night we told dad that, "we are leaving and will be back in the morning." He opened his eyes and nodded his head.

After returning home we prayed with great burden and God re-assured us that dad will be all right and will walk out of that hospital completely healed and healthy. We also called Bro. Paul Dhinakaran and asked his prayers. He prayed for a miracle and new life for my dad. That morning we went to the hospital not knowing what awaited us. When we reached in dad's room, he was not responding and his neck was stiff though he was breathing. Doctors took MRI and other tests and they could not find anything in that. While waiting in the family room neurologist came in and told us that, "though CAT scan and test for meningitis does not show any brain damage or signs of stroke or signs of meningitis still I guess that he had massive stroke and chances of his survival is nil." They also told us that even putting him in ventilator would not help. They asked us whether to precede any further to put him in ventilator or not? My brother replied, "we must use all options available to save his life." So the ICU doctors came and they started preparing him to take him to ICU. When the doctor saw us sitting calmly, in amazement he asked to my brother, "did they explain to you that what we are about to do?" My brother told him, "Yes, you will put a tube in his mouth and put him on ventilator". Later he told my brother that, "dad did not get proper oxygen from 24 to 48 hours so lets give him oxygen and see how things turns out." My brother overheard him saying, "dad's oxygen level is very low and it is too late for him..."

Few moments later hospital chaplain came to comfort us in the family room. My mom took a giant step of faith and declared to him that, "He(my dad) shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD." Those were very scary moments yet there was unspeakable, overwhelming peace upon us. We cried, we prayed and we believed for a miracle from the loving hands of Jesus.

After they put him in ventilator we returned home heartbroken, not knowing what to do. While taking lunch we were talking and my brother said, "God can still perform a miracle and if not, we do not have fear because dad is saved and filled with the Holy Spirit so he is going to heaven. One day we will meet him in heaven." Though we were feeling as if we are losing our faith yet we all said, "no matter what comes our way Lord, we will serve you and will try to walk in your ways till our last breath."

About half an hour later one dear sister called us who is a doctor. She asked about dad's health and my brother told her that he was in ventilator. She was shocked and said, "how it is possible, it was just yesterday when I talked to you... and how it happened." She advised us to be prepared for both sides because if a person is in ventilator, things could turn to any direction for worst or for good. Oh well, we would be forever grateful for her help. She called nurses and doctors and she worked very hard to find out what the actual condition is and how much chances of my dad's survival. She called us back and told us that he will be revived in three-four days and there are chances of his full recovery.

That night we could not sleep properly and prayed almost whole night. Next day our hearts were heavy and we had no idea what we had to face that day. But in my mind one Malayalam song's first two lines were repeated again and again as if someone had put a tape recorder in my mind and played the same two lines over and over. No matter what I did, I could not shake off those two lines from my mind. That was, "Kayinja varshangalellam maranthin kari-niyal-yeshade-yene, Karunayil podhinju sukshichathal..."
Meaning is, "In all these past years you have covered with your grace and protected us so that death's black shadow could not come over us."

When we reached hospital we talked to the nurse about dad's condition and she told us that, "nothing had changed overnight and his condition is the same as yesterday. He is stable." Hearing that my heart sank. Then she further said that, when she was making his bed, he opened his eyes and looked toward her. When I heard that, I was thrilled and a great hope filled in my heart. We went inside the room and dad was sleeping. My brother called him. In the second call he opened his eyes and looked towards us. He could not speak because of the tubes in his mouth and nose but he expressed himself with his tears. That was very emotional moment. In my whole life I never saw him crying. He was the strongest person in our home. Oh, what a joy it was to see him alive again. I could not stop praising God whole day. It was a miracle that he recovered this fast while he was so weak. Today, he is out of ventilator. Please keep him in your prayers for his speedy recovery.

With psalmist I can say, "I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. The pangs of death surrounded me, And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. (Psa 18:3- 6)"

Last two weeks were very hard on our lives. As my dad suddenly got ill two months back with fluid build up in his stomach. I believe it was the first biopsy and he was admitted in the hospital to remove the fluid from his belly and go through the biopsy. I was standing near by bathtub and pondering on his situation thinking don’t know what is going on and what sickness he has? Suddenly I saw a man’s face on my vision and his face flashed for split second before my eyes and vanished. My eyes were open but I could clearly see the face of a man, which was so familiar to me but I could not understand what it meant. After sometime my brother called us from hospital and said my dad will be admitted in the hospital for the procedure and he may be staying there for whole day and asked us to pray. As I knelt down to pray and began to pray Lord said, “witchcraft was being done and the man you saw in vision is the person responsible and he is the one who also brought stroke on your dad in year 2001.” Then only I knew that the man is continuously trying to destroy our family through his witchcrafts. I could understand all these things because of “gift of wisdom” which is the one of the gifts out of nine.

1 Cor 12:4 -10 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

In year 1986 I went for the training for Evangelism in “Power ministry of evangelism” in Jesus calls . It was sixteen days training and on the last day Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran laid hands and prayed over each participants and prophesied that what ministry Lord has kept for us. He prayed for me and said, “Lord will use you with gift of wisdom. You’ll see visions and dreams. Lord will appear to you in your visions and dreams etc..etc…” Later many other preacher and prophets whom we never met before prophesied and confirmed the same thing. Well “gift of wisdom” is a marvelous gift. Through this gift you can know the mysteries of deep, which nobody knows but only Lord Jesus. Lord reveals the things, which is happening in spirit world. Through this gift you can know who God is, what heaven thinks about the situation, how demons are operating in spirit realm and what they are planning against a person, how heavenly angels operate in different times and many more things which human mind can never understand without the help of the Holy Spirit. Gift of wisdom is a very marvelous gift and it is indeed a very rare gift. Bro. Dhinakarn said in one of his messages, “Lord does not throw this gift including “gift of knowledge” and “gift of working miracles” to anyone unless and until there is a special purpose behind.” Moses had this gift and he could divide the red sea in two with the help of this gift (Exo 14:21). Joshua could stop the sun and moon for certain season, Elisha could tell what the king is thinking or planning in his bedroom against God’s people (2 Ki 6:12), Elijha could see the chariots of fire because of this gift (2 Ki 2:11). In New Testament Paul had this gift and he could visit heaven (2 Cor 12:1 –2). Yes this gift can enable you to have heavenly visitations too. By telling all these things I am not stating that I am something great certainly not. Of course I am a very ordinary person who has very little abilities in most of the fields than other people. I even tremble to stand before ten people and read Bible. But I do not know why God chose me for such ministry though there are many bold people out there who can do better than me. I could not find answers and I may never. Ok so it was the little highlights of the gift and how it works.

2 Ki 2:11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
2 Ki 2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, "My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!"
2 Ki 6:12 And one of his servants said, "None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom."
Exo 14:21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.
2 Cor 12:1 It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord:
2 Cor 12:2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago; whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows; such a one was caught up to the third heaven.

Well last Sunday before going to the church I visited the hospital to see my dad and he looked very lethargic. By seeing I knew that something bad is happening. Later in the evening visited hospital again and his condition looked more pathetic so I asked the Nurse, “Is he conscious or unconscious?” And she began to speak something else like, “did he wrote his last will? If he cannot breath by himself does he want to be on ventilator etc.” But they did not care to see why he is looking so lethargic. Next morning I told my brother why don’t we call Bro. Paul Dhinakaran so that he can pray so we did and found him on telephone. He said, “I am going to pray now and he began to think something. Then he asked, “Was it sudden?” My brother said, “Yes two months back suddenly fluid began to build up in his stomach and when we prayed Lord said it was due to witchcraft.” So Paul answered, witchcraft…oh..” Then with much burden he prayed and said he will be continually praying.” We four people (my mom, brother, sister and I) went to hospital in the morning and the horrible drama began. My dad looked unconscious, his eyes were not moving and he was not responding. Neurologist came and checked him and found that his neck was stiff and he looked awful. The Neurologist said, “we are going to do CT scan and some test in spinal cord to see if he suffered Stroke or Meningitis.” It was done immediately and both came negative so he said, “I still think he had massive stroke though test doesn’t show anything.” He suggested that my dad need ventilator to survive but if it was massive stroke the chances of recovery was nil.” In between Nurses and family doctor talked to us saying, “do you know what was his last will? Does he want to go further in life support i.e. Ventilator/Respirator. Since he is very old it may be very stressful for him. They will put tube inside his lungs and push air through it, they might pump his heart etc.” Few months back when we were watching the news about Terry Schiavo and other similar cases we had a least thought about it that in within few months we are heading towards the same point were the crucial decision to be taken. God may have prepared us through those news and we knew that what action should be taken. So my brother said, “Whatever avenues you have to save him we will go up to it and even up to the last to save him.” So they agreed to precede further though Neurologist said, “it is not worth to do it since chances of recovery is nil.” Then pulmonary expert came and examined him and said to his Nurse to test the blood right there in the room and find out the oxygen level. Then he said, “he cannot last longer in this situation he need to be rushed in ventilator soon. Again he asked the same question, “are you willing, was it your dad’s will?” All the things happen so fast before our eyes for which we were not prepared and we four people were all alone going through these entire trauma. In the midst of all these things we all looked very normal, as there was an awesome peace of God was present. My brother said, “my head seems spinning now, my sister too said, I feel dizzy so we moved to sit in family waiting room.” The Chaplain (hospital pastor) came to counsel us and comfort us. Finally the ICU (intensive care unit) people came running and tested him. My brother over heard them saying to the Nurse, “it is too late, his oxygen level was very low.” Later the ICU doctor said to my brother, “his oxygen level was very low, probably something is going on from last 24-48 hrs and let’s see if we can do something.” We visited my dad in ICU and he was in ventilator. We stayed there for few minutes and I thought, “Lord it is not too late for you, if you can raise Lazarus from his grave you can still do it, Lord it will never be too late for you, even if he goes up to funeral home still you can resurrect him.” After few minutes we decided to return home.

I asked my brother, “Will you be able to drive down to home? Or we need to call somebody to help us? Then we drove back to our house, which was 25 minutes away from the hospital. Our hearts were very heavy; we didn’t speak a word during our ride. Many thought came and gone and I began to think, “it’s all over now, Let’s accept the fact that he is not going to make it and he is not coming back home.” I remembered the promises God had given to us on Sep 23 during family prayer, “Your dad is in my safe hands and he is going to recover completely…the forces of darkness can push harder, can look overwhelming but cannot topple my plans. The forces of darkness may look like hurricane but can’t do anything at the end. Don’t look to the fierceness of darkness but look to Me.” I began to think what happened to those promises, why God never told us that my dad is going to die,…” We sat around dining table. I had no courage to tell my brother, “let’s accept the facts now and move on with our life, dad is saved and spirit filled person so he is going to go to heaven and one day we’ll be able meet him again on that beautiful shore. Let’s continue our ministry which God has entrusted in our hands.” So I looked towards my brother and asked, “now what?” He said, “Nothing, God can still raise him but if he does not we’ll meet him one day and we are going to continue our ministry. Death is inevitable and one day or other all have to die so let the will of God be done.” My sister said, “life or death whatever comes on our way we are going to serve the Lord till our last breath. My mom said, “Whether he (my dad) lives or dies God is still good. We all wept and cried and comforted each other and felt great peace.

After an hour or so our phone rang, our doctor friend who helped us in all our two months ordeal to understand what procedure they are doing and what was going on, how hard or risky the procedure is telephoned us. She literally walked us thru every thing and many times said, “it looks the biopsy is unnecessary since blood test shows nothing the result will be nil. She looked more knowledgeable than our family doctor and most of the time she was right. She asked my brother about my dad. Then she said, “that he is on ventilator, he was ok yesterday, then said, if the oxygen level was low then chances of recovery is very good.” She said, “let me call in ICU and find out and will return to you. So she did and told that chances of recovery are very good. Further she said, “Don’t get scared of word “ventilator” I’ve seen many who go to diabetic coma walk away from ventilator and lead a very normal life.” It really gave a boost and much comfort. She was such an angel to us though she is Hindu by religion she could comfort us as nobody else can. Our hopes were risen once again and as she had predicted, by God’s grace My dad is out of ventilator after two days and looks ok. He is still in ICU and we are still in Roller coaster hoping that God who brought him out of ventilator will pull him out of hospital too. I believe Bro. Paul Dhinakaran’s prayer at right time made a great difference. It turned the confused situation in right direction and my dad got right treatment at the crucial moments and the prayer helped greatly in his recovery too.

Yes, many a times we find it hard to keep our faith alive but if we surrender our lives and think in both ways that whatever the situation bring it is for good it really helps. God is good whether things turn in either way. Let us look to God in joy and in sorrow, in bad times and in good times. He is still on the throne and He still does miracles. If you are a saved person there is always a hope. Whether life or death both brings victory. If you die still you win because you have a place in heaven and if you live you still win and live for Christ.

Witchcraft - What it can do to a Person?

Bible tells us that how wicked thing is witchcraft. God has always hated witchcraft, sorcery, calling the spirit of dead, spiritist, mediums etc. God told the Israelites specifically in Deu 18:9-14, "When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you."

God considered these type of things as prostitution and abomination as we read in Lev 20:6, "And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people."

From above verses we can understand that how God hates all these things. That was the reason He drove the Canaanites out of the land of Canaan and gave the land to Israelites.

Many believe that witchcraft is just a myth and it has no power. But the Bible tells us that it is powerful and wicked. When Moses was sent by God to deliver the Israelites from the land of Egypt, he faced mighty and powerful magicians who tried to put roadblocks in everyway and to stop him and Israelites from going out of the land of bondage. Witchcraft always brings bondage in one's life. But there is a deliverer powerful enough to deliver you from the powers of witchcraft. Look at the actions of Moses, as he performed all the magicians also tried to do the same. Exo 7:11-12 tells us, "But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For every man threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods."

When Aaron stretched out the rod of Moses over the waters of Egypt, over their streams, over their rivers, over their ponds, and over all their pools of water was turned to blood. And the further the Bible says in Exo 7:21-22, "The fish that were in the river died, the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river. So there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. Then the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments; and Pharaoh's heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, as the LORD had said."

Likewise the magicians and sorcerers could imitate some of the other plagues but they could not make those plagues to disappear from Egypt. Magicians and sorcerers could perform miracles and imitate God's power but they only could do it in the limited capacity. The reason is that God is more powerful than devil and his power. Later they could not even imitate Moses and Aaron any further. A day came when God broke all the powers of witchcraft and darkness from the lives of Israelites and made them to come out of that land. He gave them freedom from their hard labor and bondage.

Today you may be in bondage and sicknesses because of witchcraft but God can deliver you from those bondages, sicknesses, financial crises and other untold sorrows. If you are a child of God, witch crafters cannot harm you.

When my dad got sick, we prayed and asked God that why he got sick? God told us that someone did witchcraft against him. God also told us that, "do not get overwhelmed seeing the fierceness of hurricane and the darkness because in the end you will have the victory." And I saw a vision that eye of hurricane moved toward our house but it stopped just above our yard and I saw very dark clouds following it. But soon that hurricane turned to the other direction and moved away from our house. In these two weeks we had experienced the fierceness of the hurricane that moved in our lives but it could not destroy us. God cannot allow his children to face defeat in the hands of devil and his witchcraft. Witch crafters can win for sometimes but not forever. God will deliver you from the hands of those evil people who do witchcraft against you. Are you seeing problems and trials in your life, look to Jesus, He can help you.

I would like to thank each and every one of you from the depths of my heart for praying for me and my family when I was Jobless for the past seven months. Jesus heard and answered all your prayers and worked a Miracle in my Life by blessing me with a good Job on 17- 09-05 so that I may stay with my family together. Thanking you once again for your constant prayers.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
