Once I read a heartbreaking story of a young woman. She was studying in collage. There was a young man who was studying with her. Both started dating and dreamed of marrying one day. When finally both shared their wishes to the parents, they were not ready for this wedding. Many days and months of pleading did not work. Instead the parents of both girl and boy arranged their weddings to another persons. Later the girl wrote about her tragic life and said, "that day a part of me died and I have no interest in life anymore."When relationships end or friendships break away, it is painful as death. When God created Adam and Eve, He wanted to have fellowship with them. He wanted to walk with them, talk with them and live among them. But a tragic day came when Adam and Eve sinned against God. Their relationship with God broke down. The pain of death was filled in the Garden of Eden, since then that relationship and pain of death has continued. Though we walk, talk and do things yet our God-part has been dead since that day. We live but not fullest. That is the reason why very often our hearts cry out to know the meaning and purpose of lifeBut story does not end there. God sent His only Son to die for us so that we could have relationship with God again and that we could have friendship with God again. Jesus became mediator or bridge between God and human being. He stood between God and us so that He can reconcile us with God and restore our relationship with God. Because our relationship is broken with God, we are heading toward eternal death and separation from God unless we reconcile with God. Today, we can have fellowship with God once again because of the shed blood of Jesus. Jesus said in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Also in John 10:27-28, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand."It is possible that you are following strict rules and customs of your religion. It is also possible that you may be a highest-ranking religious leader but if you have no relationship with God, your religious duties or religious status has no meaning. Turn to Christ and allow Him to restore and reconcile your life with God. When it happens you will never be the same again.
Finally this Monday (28th Nov.) my dad came back home after staying in the hospital more than two months. What a day it was! We rejoiced for the miracle God has done in our lives and the victory He gave us over evil witchcraft and demonic powers. My dad is doing much better now. His memory is sharper now and also he is gaining strength. Jesus said in John 16:33, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Jesus told His disciples that, "this world is full of terrible things but be of good cheer because I was victorious over those evil things." Today also we have victory over evil things through Jesus' mighty power.1. Victory over sin: Bible tells us in John 1:29, "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" Sin is the greatest enemy of mankind. Ever since we have been exposed to sin, it brought disaster and devastation in our lives. Psalmist says in Psa 38:3, "There is no soundness in my flesh Because of Your anger, Nor any health in my bones Because of my sin." One can experience turmoil, sickness and restlessness because of sin. But Jesus came in this world to take away the sin of the world. He came in this world to give us triumph over sin.Sin will not only destroy your peace but also destroy you eternally. It will send you in hell. That is the reason why Jesus gave His life so that we could come out of our sins. You can get rid of your sins by coming to Jesus and getting forgiveness of your sins through the shed blood of Jesus.2. Victory over death: Paul writes in 1 Cor 15:54-57, "So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."Sin ultimately leads a person to eternal death. Bible says in Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Jesus defeated death on the cross, dying Himself and resurrecting from the death. He victoriously came out of the grave alive and well. He promised to those who believe in Him also will live and not die. Jesus promised in John 14:19, "...Because I live, you will live also." Yes, You can live because He lives and ready to give you a new life. If you give your life to Jesus He will give you eternal life. When your time ends in this world you will be with Him in His presence.3. Victory over demonic powers: Luke 10:19 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." What a promise God gave to those who follow Him! Demonic powers and devil cannot harm a person who is saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. But unfortunately our Churches have diminished the power of precious Holy Spirit. Most of our churches have ignored the power of Holy Spirit and no wonder we can see defeated, beaten down Christians who are slave to many addictions. Instead of trampling serpents and scorpions they have allowed them to sit on their heads. What a pity! Jesus never intended a beaten down and pitiful life for His followers. He gave us victory over all kinds of demonic powers. Yes, this victorious life is for you if you just give your life to Jesus. If you say that, "I am tired of this miserable life and now I want a victorious life that Jesus promised", please pray this prayer with me:Lord Jesus, I repent from my sins and turn my life over to you. Please take this miserable and pitiful life and give me a new life. Give me a life full of victory. I want to live a victorious life. I do not want to be a slave of devil anymore but I want to live a life of power, peace and dignity. Please come into my life and cleanse me with your precious blood. Wash me clean and fill me with precious Holy Spirit so that I could live a victorious life. Thank you for hearing my prayer. I give you all the glory and honor to you. I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
