"Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.(Amos 3:7)"

God reveals His secret to His servants. Whole Bible is witness of His sovereign revelation to His children. Because He revealed His secrets, many were protected from evil and dangers. Many escaped death. Many were cautioned and many could see good future of theirs and their children. Even today also God's power is not ceased to reveal His secret to His children.

Three months back when my dad was in the ICU, one Pastor came to see him. While we were talking, my mom said that, "God has promised us that dad will be healed and will not die." The Pastor listened very carefully then he said, "If God has spoken to you, it will happen exactly because in the year 2001 when he(dad) suffered a stroke that time also you said about God's promise of healing in his life and it happened exactly." Then the Pastor repeated the same thing second time.

Of course God has fulfilled His promises. Three months back it seemed so impossible but what a mighty and awesome God we have who healed my dad and restored his health. Doctors and nurses told us that it will take long time for him to recover completely and start walking again, may be one year or more. But to the amazement of Doctors and nurses, he started improving faster than they thought. He gained strength, his speech returned then he started walking with walker and now without walker. On 31st Dec. he attended watch night service. Many were amazed seeing him walking and they told us that it was nothing short of a miracle! Of course it is and we gave a black eye to devil.

When we told all the stories of his miraculous recovery, my dad was completely shocked. He said, "I do not remember anything." He tried to recall but he does not remember his two months ordeal except the visits of few people in the hospital.

The same God who led Bible prophets, showing them their personal and national future, led all the New Testament prophets and apostles. And the same God wants to lead us and guide us. He said to His disciples in John 16:13, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."

Jesus fulfilled His promise when He sent the Holy Spirit upon His disciples. Today also He wants to fill His Children with His Holy Spirit so that His children could walk in His divine guidance and know what is ahead of them. Oh, receiving the filling of Holy Spirit is the most wonderful experience one could ever have. Are you a blood washed child of God? If you say yes then you are eligible to receive the precious Holy Spirit. If you are not a child of God but if you want to become one, please pray this prayer with me:

Dear God, I have sinned against you but now I repent and turn to you. Please forgive and forget all my sins. Wash me with your precious blood and make me your child. Today I invite you to become Lord and Savior of my life. Thanks for making me your child. Thanks for giving me eternal life. I give you all the glory. I pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.

Keep your Faith

By Vinod Isaac

1 Ki 19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time."
1 Ki 19:3 And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
1 Ki 19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, "It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!"

Elijah had just seen a great miracle. He challenged Ahab the King of Israel and 850 prophets of Baal and Asherah. That is 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah. That is one person Vs. 850 people. His challenge was simple "If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." In the process any thing can happen even there is a possibility that he may lose his life. Still he gave the challenge and put forth a condition Baal's prophets and Elijah both are going to prepare for sacrifice and going to pray if any of the God answers by fire He will be the true God.

Well all the 850 prophets of Baal and Asherah prayed and nothing happened. Elijah prayed and God answered and sent fire from heaven to consume the sacrifice. Elijah had proved the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the true God. It was time for Elijah to rejoice because God had given a major victory. But every time there is major spiritual victory devil gets infuriated and exactly that is what happened. Jezebel the witchcraft queen issued an order and challenged Elijah that he will be killed.

When God had done such a marvelous miracle, Elijah might have thought that his days of trouble are over. He had gone through a lot in the past three and half years. He had to live near a brook named Cherith. The reason he had to live near the Brook was because God had sent him to say to Ahab who was king of Israel that there will be no rain in the Land.

1 Ki 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word."

Just after this Elijah was asked by the Lord to go to brook Cherith so that he can stay safe there. Ahab searched for Elijah in every place possible but could not find because Elijah was safely dwelling at the brook.

After this hardship Elijah had just emerged because God had asked him to go to Ahab again and at this point he gives the challenge and God answers by fire. So Elijah might have definitely thought that his days of trouble are over. Seeing such a great miracle Ahab and Jezebel will definitely believe in God. But that did not happen as soon as Jezebel heard she was angry and sent an ultimatum to Elijah.

Now Elijah, who had seen the hand of God moving so mightily, got scared. He ran for his life. Yes when you walk in the ways of the Lord and do His will. There are times you may face tough circumstances. There are times when you do not know if you will see another day or not. You may be taking the gospel to a village that does not want to listen to it. Or in a country that is closed for gospel. There may be severe persecution. Elijah went through it and Elijah didn't know what to do in such circumstance. In desperation he cries out to the Lord "It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!" Today you may be going through the same frustration because there are people who want to kill you just because you took the love of Christ to them. Just because you told them that Jesus loves you so much that He died for you.

Well Elijah was not alone Jesus gone through the exact same situation. He preached the gospel, healed the sick, cast out the demons in the streets of Israel for three and half years. Several times Pharisees tried to kill Him.

Jesus was walking in the Solomon's temple. A place where he should be honored the most but Jews took up stones to stone Him. John 10:31 "Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him." Further we read that they tried to seize Him but He escaped. John 10:39 "Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand."

In these circumstances He gets the word that His beloved friend Lazarus is sick. If He goes in the open, death is waiting for Him on the other Hand His friend is sick unto death. But Jesus is no Elijah. He is not going to run away from the assignment He has got. He stayed in the place where He was two more days not because He was afraid but because the time was not fulfilled.

He says to his disciples that they are going to Judea and disciples are scared they say to Him that just a little ago Jews were trying to stone and now you are talking about going there again?

John 11:7 Then after this He said to the disciples, "Let us go to Judea again."
John 11:8 The disciples said to Him, "Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?"

Well Jesus went to Bethany and His disciples went with Him kicking and screaming. The next moment He is standing before the tomb of Lazarus. Lazarus is dead for four days. He is stinking in the tomb from four days. But that situation is no match for the mighty power of God. Jesus commands Lazarus to come forth and he is comes out of the tomb fully healed.

A mighty miracle indeed. Will the Jews who were going to stone Him relent and turn towards Him? No instead they are plotting again. They gathered a council and decided that Jesus can't be left unchecked. Some thing needs to be done.

John 11:46 But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them the things Jesus did.
John 11:47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, "What shall we do? For this Man works many signs.
John 11:48 "If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation."

Well seeing great miracles they were not concerned about thinking that there is God and if He can resurrect a dead person after four days they can't fight against Him. Instead they plotted to kill Him.

John 11:53 "Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death."

What a pathetic option they chose. In case of Elijah God had performed a mighty miracle before His enemies and Ahab and Jezebel did not repent. Jesus performed a mighty miracle before the Jews and some of them did not repent. Elijah was looking for answer but Jesus already had the answer.

That is why He said to His disciples:
Mat 10:27 "Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.
Mat 10:28 "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

When persecution rises like a flood a worst thing a person can do is succumb to the pressure and sell his soul. Life on this earth is temporary it will soon pass away. But where you will spend your eternity is more important. That is why Jesus said do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Yes unless you allow your relationship with Christ cannot be broken by any body other than yourself. When trouble comes and when persecution rises, best thing you can do is keep your faith in Christ and walk in His ways.

Well that is exactly what disciples did.

Acts 5:40 And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
Acts 5:41 So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
Acts 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

Disciples did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. May the Lord strengthen you to preach the gospel with boldness even in difficult circumstances.

Let no one may take your Crown

By Sheela Isaac

Rev 3:11 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown."

The Bible says, “hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.” If you read the whole chapter i.e. Revelation chapter 3, it speaks about salvation, heaven, white robe, overcoming temptations, holding fast the crown etc. Bible says that when a believer will die and reach heaven he/she is going to receive the crown. Here Jesus might be speaking about the “crown of life” which would be given to every believer who are saved and washed by the blood of Jesus. James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Again in 1st Peter the Bible says about the crown of glory, which would be given to the righteous people i.e. saved and blood washed people. 1 Pet 5:4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. Rev 2:10, “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” This verse again speaks about Crown of life, which would be given to the person who is going to stand faithful till the end. All these verses clearly state that each and every believer who will live for Christ would receive some type of crown in heaven.

First of all who is going to receive the crown and who will reach heaven.
Rev 7:9, “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,” Rev 7:13, “Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?" Rev 7:14, “And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made it white in the blood of the Lamb.”

So according to the Bible those who are washed their garments in the precious blood of Jesus will receive the crown of life. It means those who are born again (John 3:3, 7) and received the forgiveness of sin by Jesus’ holy blood will receive the crown of life and will enter in heaven. And according to the word of God (Bible) only blood washed and saved people are called true Christians. You might have heard about Jesus hundreds of times. You may be a church member but…but.. if you do not know Him personally then you will not enter in heaven. In another words if you know Him (Jesus) personally and if you have repented from your sins and received the forgiveness of your sin then only you will receive the crown of life but others will not. Are you a blood washed and saved person? Have you ever invited Jesus into your heart? If not you are traveling on a dangerous road. Do you know if you keep on traveling without Christ in your heart you could lose heaven and you could end up in hell fire.

Alright once you receive Christ into your heart you are a child of God and are entitled for heaven. But you must know that once saved is not always saved. Have you ever thought that you could lose salvation too? That’s why Jesus is talking about holding fast the crown so that it may not be lost. Rev 3:11 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown."

Could a believer lose Salvation? Yes
Bible speaks about many who lost their salvation. Look at the life of Saul. He was a spirit filled man (1sam 10:10), he was chosen by God Himself. God sent Prophet Samuel to anoint him so that he can rule as king over Israel. 1 Sam 9:17, “And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, "There he is, the man of whom I spoke to you. This one shall reign over My people." When Saul failed to obey God and failed to walk in His ways the spirit of the Lord departed from him. 1 Sam 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him. Not only the Spirit of the Lord left him but he lost heaven. Bible says, Saul committed suicide and ended his life in a horrible way. It was a most tragic story and tragic end of a man who once was chosen by God. You might be a saved person but let this story be a constant reminder for you that if you fail to walk in the ways of God and fail to lead a holy life you could lose your salvation and a place in heaven. Every time when I read this story I pray, “Lord help me to walk in your ways, I never want to lose heaven.” Let this be your prayers too. Hold fast the Salvation that is precious than any diamond, gold or precious stones and safe guard it in any cost. Let the whole world be lost but not the Salvation, which is a guarantee for your future and for your eternity.

Could a True Christian fall in Sin? Yes
The story of David and Samson are a true reminder that a believer a saved and born again person could fall in a deadly sin. Bible says David was a man after God’s own heart. When King Saul fell and walked away from God, God chose David in his place and God said, I found a man who is according to my own heart and God thought he is going to walk in His ways. Yes indeed David walked in God’s ways. Yes indeed he was a loyal and faithful man but he failed to guard his steps. When he saw a beautiful woman in a bathing suit he lost his mind. He not only committed adultery with Bathsheba but the Bible says he murdered her husband. When it happened God did not keep quite but He was angry at him and He sent prophet Nathan to tell David what would happen to him. Nathan Said to David, 2 Sam 12:9 'Why have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword; you have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the people of Ammon. 2 Sam 12:10 'Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.' Well cutting long story short David repented and God forgave him but the things spoken by God came to pass in his life time. David’s sons Amnon and Absalom were killed by sword. David repented of his sins and thus he could save his place in heaven. The bottom line is true believers can get into sin. If you are not guarding your salvation you could get into trouble and even you could lose your salvation.

That is why Bible reminds us to lead a holy life. You may be a good Christian but if you are not guarding your life and your steps you could get into sin and you could fall. Salvation is a precious gift and you must know that Salvation is an instantaneous experience. Salvation is not a process but it is an instantaneous occurrence. The day you repent from your sin and feel really sorry about it and repent at the foot of the Cross. The day you receive the forgiveness of your sin from Lord Jesus Christ and you become a child of God. But perfecting Salvation is not an instantaneous experience. It is a process. And this process is going to continue till your life ends. Perfecting Salvation is not an automatic program but it is a duty of every believer to observe it. Paul says, I subject my flesh and fleshly desires to perfect it. 1 Cor 9:26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 1 Cor 9:27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” By leading a holy life and following the commandments of God you can guard your salvation. That is why reading the word of God daily is a must. If you are not reading the Bible and not following it to correct and clean your life you could easily backslide and fall in sin. Another essential tool is prayer. We are weak in flesh and through prayer we ask help from Jesus to fight our spiritual battles. Prayer changes things. Yes let me repeat one more time ‘prayer changes things’. The area, which looks hard to clean, beat it with prayer. There are no such areas in your life, which Jesus cannot fix.

May the Lord Jesus bless you in your spiritual journey.
