Jesus said in Mat 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

In our day today life we go through many strains, toils and hardships that overwhelms our hearts. More than that sin and the guilt make us overburdened and miserable. When Jesus called those who labor and are heavy laden He knew the condition of human beings. Psalmist has given good sketch of the miserable condition in Psa 38:4-11, "For my iniquities have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds are foul and festering Because of my foolishness. I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. For my loins are full of inflammation, And there is no soundness in my flesh. I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil of my heart. Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You. My heart pants, my strength fails me; As for the light of my eyes, it also has gone from me. My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague, And my relatives stand afar off."

Psalmist describes his complete brokenness, sadness and burdened heart with sin and suffering. Yes, Sin makes a person miserable. If you are going through sickness, it will make your life miserable. If you are going through financial difficulties, it will make your life miserable. Sin, sickness, poverty, death and oppression are not your friends but they are destroyer of your life. Those things cause great deal of pain and turmoil in one's life. A few days back one brother wrote to us like this, "I have a problem with badly receding gums inside my mouth the gum and the gum bone have receded so badly on the upper and the lower palate - that it is very difficult for me to keep dentures in. It is a problem for dentists to try and make me a new set. In fact the last dentist who made me a private set had to refund my money as the dentures he made for me were no use. The problem is that even the best dentist cannot construct a proper set. There is not enough gum left to take proper impressions. I worry about the future, I could not manage to eat a thing without having a set of dentures. I ask you to pray and ask God to halt the shrinking of my gums inside my mouth. And instead to regenerate the gum tissues and the gum bone and making the inside of my mouth the way it was six years ago. I mean this problem is making my life a misery. Please ask God to help me. Doctors cannot help me. Dentist cannot help me. Who else can I turn to ? I am asking God to make a miracle happen." You can see that how terrible a sickness is. One sickness and it will make your whole life miserable.

But I have good news for you that Jesus took all our sins, sickness, poverty, miserable conditions and tears on the cruel cross. He died so that we could have a better life not only after death but also in this world. We can come out of our sins, sicknesses, pain, sorrow and our problems putting our trust in Jesus Christ.

Are you weighed down with load and seeing no hope of coming out of it? Look to Jesus, He is not in the grave but He is risen from the dead and lives forever. He can help. Jesus said in John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Abundant life is not a miserable life but a life full of blessing, loaded with goodness and mercy of God. This life is yours if you invite Jesus in your life.

We wish all our reader a very happy and blessed Easter. The Lord is risen indeed!

The Resurrecting Power of Jesus

By Sherly Isaac

When I was a child, my mom taught me a simple prayer to pray before I go to bed. The prayer said something like this, "O Lord, I give my life into your mighty hand, please give me good night sleep. If it is your will let me wake up in the morning and glorify your name but if I do not wake up please allow me to open my eyes in heaven..." At times I wondered that, "why I needed to pray this type of prayer in this young age? Nobody dies in this young age, I thought." And never I thought seriously about how we wake up every morning until one day when my dad could not wake up in the morning as he was in comma. It was in 2005 Oct. 3rd. But God gave his life back. That day I realized that small things that we take as granted are not that insignificant but rather it is God's gift that we open our eyes every morning after night's sleep.

I also realized the importance of the prayer my mom taught me in childhood. We do not know when the end of our lives will come. We need to be prepared for it every moment of our lives. Once I attended a memorial service. A picture kept coming just in front of my mind - the scene of hell where fire and pain was and I thought, how terrible it is if the person has descended in hell. The painful cries ringed my ears. I thought about the support and help from the family in this world but in hell a person is all alone, nobody to help... what a pathetic condition. I also thought about the other side of who goes to heaven and I thought, what a joy it would be if heaven waits for a person."

When Jesus was in this world, there was a beloved family who took care of Jesus. Jesus was frequent visitor in their home. In that family there were two sisters and one brother named Lazarus. One day Lazarus got very sick. His two sisters got very upset and they sent message for Jesus about Lazarus' sickness. But before Jesus came their hopes were faded away as they found out that their loving brother was unable to wake up. He was dead. Both of the sisters' hearts failed. They lost all their hopes. They thought, if Jesus had came just before our brother was dead, his life could have been saved but now we are without hope. Martha's frustration was visible in her talks with Jesus in John 11:21 Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died..."

But in the next few verses we could see Jesus moving with compassion for troubled and heartbroken sisters and wiped away their tears. I can only imagine, what a great joy might have filled their hearts when they saw their only brother was awake again. This is the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. A completely impossible and hopeless situation turned into hope and the reason of praise because of the mighty power of Jesus.

My friend, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He did in the past, He can do the same today and tomorrow. His power has not diminished nor He is in the grave forever but He lives. Yes, it is true that He was crucified and was buried but He rose from the dead and lives forever. Jesus said in John 14:19, "...Because I live, you will live also."

Do you say that, "I am in hopeless situation? All my hopes are gone and the only thing left is the unbearable pain and sorrow." If it is your cry today, look to Jesus. He is risen from the grave and He can resurrect you from no matter how grave situation you may have.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
