Just two days back there were series of bomb blasts in Bombay, India. Now the crisis in middle east... Before that we had so many catastrophic events that shook nations and even the whole world. In this world where there is no peace but so much turmoil and troubles, how can one stay peaceful? Bible tells us, "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.(Isaiah 26:3)"Once I read a true story. There was a very wealthy family who lived in the city of Madras, India. The parents and a five years old son. They had nothing to worry because of their status and wealth. One day this family was traveling and they met with an accident. That accident killed the parents of the family but the child survived. Police searched for close relatives of the child and they found out that the child's father had a brother in the same city. So they took the child and gave him to his uncle for adoption. The child had good time with his cousins, uncle and aunty. But that did not last for many months. A few months later the uncle transferred all the property of his brother in his own name and made the child to leave home and wander in the streets. The child wandered in the big city, not knowing where to go. At night he slept on footpath with other homeless people and in the daytime he ate whatever small food venders gave him. Days and months passed by and the boy became a teenager. No home, no relatives, no good cloth on him and no education. One day he listened to a street preacher preaching about the love of Jesus. The street boy gave his life to Jesus. His life started changing and God started blessing him and prospering him. The more he trusted in God, the more he became blessed. God blessed him greatly that he became very prosperous and great. When a street boy gave his life to Jesus, his future became bright and life was completely changed. Today you may be afraid of your future seeing the troubles in this world but if you give your life to Jesus, He will take care of your future and He will keep you in perfect peace. Let your worries and anxieties be taken care off by Jesus Himself. If you want the peace of Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer:Lord Jesus, I am much worried seeing the uncertainty of my future. My heart is filled with anxiety and fear. I come before you today and confess all my sins before you. Please forgive and forget all my sins. Please forgive and forget all my sins and fill me with your peace that passes all understanding. I accept you as my Lord and Savior today. From now on I will live for you. Make my future a blessed one and a bright one. Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayers. I give you all the glory to you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Over the years we have witnessed numerous miracles big or small, new hope, new life and blessings in the lives of our readers by the mighty hands of Jesus. Last year we ourselves desperately needed a miracle when our dad got very sick. Doctors told us that there was no hope for his survival. But we believed in the mighty power of Jesus and He did not disappoint us. When no one was there to help, Jesus came for our rescue. After two months in the hospital, he came back home. He is still recovering. The process of his healing is slow yet he improved a lot. We are thankful for our Lord Jesus Christ who did a mighty miracle in our lives and all of you who prayed for us and uplifted us before the throne of grace in the darkest moments of our lives. This was one of the promises of God for the children of Israel when they left Egypt and were in the wilderness, "I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you" (Exo 23:27).This is one of the promises of God for His children even today. Yes, He is an awesome God who wants to make us a victor over our enemies. When the US troops went into Afghanistan and Iraq the first thing they did was, putting confusion and fear in the hearts of the enemy by dropping heavy bombs and by sonic booms. According to them because of the continuous big sounds the enemy would loose their courage, ability to think and deprive them of sound sleep etc. Once David was in deep trouble because his son Absalom was coming to overthrow his kingdom. We read in 2 Sam 15:13-14, 'Now a messenger came to David, saying, "The hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom." So David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, "Arise, and let us flee; or we shall not escape from Absalom. Make haste to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword."' David, his household and his men fled for their lives. They were climbing up on mount Olive and were weeping then someone told David, saying, "Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom." And David said, "O LORD, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness! (2 Sam 15:31 )"Over the years this one line prayer has become one of the most favorite prayers of my life. There were times when in desperation I cried out to God and prayed this prayer again and again. Ah, whether you believe it or not, it works!! I have seen time and time again confusion and fear in the enemy's camp and victory in our lives. Why David prayed this prayer? The reason was very simple which was found in 2 Sam 16:23, "Now the advice of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if one had inquired at the oracle of God. So was all the advice of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom." David knew that, Ahithophel's wisdom and counseling was powerful enough to destroy his life. According to the 17th chapter of 2nd Samuel of course Ahithophel gave a good counsel. We read in 2 Sam 17:1-4, "Moreover Ahithophel said to Absalom, "Now let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue David tonight. I will come upon him while he is weary and weak, and make him afraid. And all the people who are with him will flee, and I will strike only the king. Then I will bring back all the people to you. When all return except the man whom you seek, all the people will be at peace. And the saying pleased Absalom and all the elders of Israel." Then Absalom called Hussai to know what advice he would give. Bible tells us in 2 Sam 17:6-13, "And when Hushai came to Absalom, Absalom spoke to him, saying, "Ahithophel has spoken in this manner. Shall we do as he says? If not, speak up." So Hushai said to Absalom: "The advice that Ahithophel has given is not good at this time. for," said Hushai, "you know your father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are enraged in their minds, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field; and your father is a man of war, and will not camp with the people. Surely by now he is hidden in some pit, or in some other place. And it will be, when some of them are overthrown at the first, that whoever hears it will say, 'There is a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom.' And even he who is valiant, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will melt completely. For all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and those who are with him are valiant men. Therefore I advise that all Israel be fully gathered to you, from Dan to Beersheba, like the sand that is by the sea for multitude, and that you go to battle in person. So we will come upon him in some place where he may be found, and we will fall on him as the dew falls on the ground. And of him and all the men who are with him there shall not be left so much as one. Moreover, if he has withdrawn into a city, then all Israel shall bring ropes to that city; and we will pull it into the river, until there is not one small stone found there." 2 Sam 17:14 verse says, "So Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel." For the LORD had purposed to defeat the good advice of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring disaster on Absalom." God heard the prayers of David and put confusion in the counseling of Ahithophel, Finally Absalom and his men faced defeat.God wants us victorious in every field of our lives. He promised, "I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you" If you are a child of God, if you are walking in the ways of God, He will make your enemies to turn their backs to you. He will make your enemies to flee from you. No matter what type of enemy you are facing, He will fulfill His promise. It could be sin, addiction of drugs, sickness, witchcraft power, or it could be real enemy face to face, if you ask help from Jesus, He will make your enemies to turn their backs on you.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
