God of the Bible is the God who fulfills our dreams. He keeps His word no matter how many years it takes but He fulfills what He has spoken. In the Bible we read about Caleb who was one of the twelve spies sent by Moses to spy the land (the land promised by God to give to the Israelites to inherit) and bring back report. Now when they returned ten out of the twelve spies gave bad report and only Joshua and Caleb were confident that God had delivered the land in their hands and that they could win the battle. Hearing the bad report of the ten spies the Israelites murmured and God became so angry that He declared. "These people will not go to the promised land except Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh; they shall see it, and to them and their children I am giving the land on which they walked, because they wholly followed the LORD."

Here we see that the dreams of Joshua and Caleb were so close to come true but suddenly everything had shattered in pieces. At times it happens to us also. We come so close to see our dreams coming true but in a split second all those dreams come crashing down and shatters in pieces. But if we stay faithful to God, if we follow God wholly, God will fulfill those promises which He has spoken and none will fall to the ground. And those dreams can come true as well.

There were twelve people who went to spy but ten spies dreams died right then and there. The question is, "What had Joshua and Caleb done differently that enabled them to achieve their dreams? We read that God promised them to give the land of Canaan and they came out of Egypt seeing so many big and awesome miracles of God. Now they were standing at the suburbs of the Promised Land that God had already promised to give to them. In simple words victory was theirs! But they refused to trust in the words of God. They believed on the words of those who gave negative report saying, "Giants live in that land and we cannot gain victory over them." At that very moment the people refused to believe on the mighty power of God. Instead they believed on those who discouraged them. But Caleb and Joshua trusted in the words of God as it was. And God honored them.

At the age of eighty five Caleb stands before Joshua and reminds what had happened and how God had promised to give the land where his foot has trodden as an inheritance. We read in

Josh 14:6-14, "Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: "You know the word which the LORD said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea. "I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart. Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God. "So Moses swore on that day, saying, 'Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children's forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.' And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said." And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel."

Yes, there is a God who wants to fulfill all our dreams. Have you lost hopes? Have you buried your dreams? You may be young or old like Caleb but nothing matters, God can still fulfill your dreams. He can make it possible, He can bring it to pass, He can let your dreams come true if you just trust on Him. If you just believe on His words and do what He has spoken to you.

I Found Jesus And Assurance of Heaven Part 2

By Sheela Isaac

Many more changes took place as days and months have passed by:

1. I never lost the joy and peace which I received that day and as days went by the joy and happiness grew.

2. Up to the next one and a half years I watched secular movies and then I lost interest and quit watching them.

As I started reading the Bible and Bible related books instead of those novels, I figured out how to live a holy and clean life and how to live a sinless life free from all the dirt and all the bad things and my life began to change and began to become holy and holier as days and months went by. Bible really tells us what level of holiness God really expects from our life. One day I was reading the book called "Peace with God" of Dr. Billy Graham. As you all know that Dr. Billy Graham is a very well known preacher of the Gospel. When I was reading his book I read similar things that had happened in my life as if the changes which took place in my life were written there. It amazed me and I was so surprised reading that and I thought how could he write the changes which took place in my life in his book and this book was written long before. In his book he wrote that when a person receives Jesus in their life as their Lord and Savior and when they receive the salvation experience the born again experience these kinds of changes take place. Then only I knew that I was saved or received salvation experience.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." When Jesus came into my heart that day my life began to change. And the bad things, the old things, the sinful things began to leave me and instead of it holiness began to come in my life. The holiness began to grow in my life because Jesus who is holy when He lives inside of us His holiness begins to flow in our life. When Jesus comes He changes our life. He takes away sin from our life and gives His holiness. The changes which took place then is still permanent in my life and it was not an emotional experience. Those sin and sinful desires never returned back in my life.

Before I invited Jesus into my life I never knew that God ever speaks to human beings. I remember in my 11th class exam I did very bad in one of the subjects. Then I was much worried about my result and I prayed night and day to just get the passing marks. I remember I prayed for months and it looked as if my prayer was going in thin air and there was none on other end to reply me. I prayed till the time when my results were out not knowing if God ever heard my prayers or if He is interested in replying me back. But when I invited Jesus into my heart and when He became my heavenly father things did change. I knew that God hears the prayers and He replies back most of the time right away.

I remember once after my exam when I came back home I heard the news that my dad was retired from his job unexpectedly. It was a very great shock for us. I heard my parents talking with much worry. We didn't know from where the money would come since regular monthly income was gone. We didn't know where we were going to live and how we are going to pay for the house rent. We didn't know from where the money would come for education since we (my brother, sister and I) were still studying. One day I heard them talking all these things and I was so upset and I remember I was standing in my courtyard and thinking about our doomed future. Then I heard somebody speak deep inside my heart, "every thing is going to be alright". It was not an audible voice but I heard so clearly and I looked around and up to see who spoke to me. But there was nobody. Then I knew and I knew that Jesus spoke that day and a great peace flooded in my heart. After this experience there was great peace and tranquility in my heart and I never worried about my future again. There were times which were rough for us but as Jesus said He did take care of us and He provided for us in a very miraculous way. As months and years have passed by I could see what Jesus said that day came true.

Since then I heard hundreds of times Jesus speaking to me and those words always came true. I remember on 2005 when my dad was very ill and he was on ventilator. Four doctors have said that his chances of survival are nil. One doctor held his neck in his hand and said, "See how stiff it is he had a massive stroke or he had meningitis." He said even if you put him on ventilator he might live in a vegetative state. It was a scary thought but since we heard from the Lord we decided to go ahead, and we put him on ventilator. Next day he came out from coma but next two months he was in semi unconscious state. He never knew what was happening around him. When somebody shouted his name he would open his eyes for few minutes then he would go in sleep mode again. One day as he was still in ICU his heart rate began to waver from 114 to 45. The nurse looked in panic and she said, "his heart rate is rapidly dropping from last night, let me call the doctor and see if he can send some cardiologist to check his condition. The nurse began to make several phone calls frantically. As his heart rate was plunging the computerized machine began to beep. As machine was constantly beeping, my dad looked little restless. We did not know when his heart would stop and the whole world would collapse. When I saw it, I was scared to death. My heart froze and I was about to be freaked out and burst in tears. Somehow I was holding my tears back. I said in my heart, "I do not want to come again in the hospital to see all these things. I can't take it any more." I never felt such despair and hopelessness in my life before. I never saw anybody before in my life this sick unto death and here it was my dad. Sitting day after day in hospital seeing him very ill was so painful. It was like sitting before a dying person and watching him die with slow death. As I was watching in horror the machine constantly beeping my anxiety grew. At that point I knew that worry can't do any good nor could it change the situation. A thought came in my mind, "You can't give life to anybody then why worry? Life and death is solely in the hands of God and only God can do something." Then I began to praise Jesus remembering the incidences of Bible. I said, "Jesus when Daniel was in the lion's den you shut the mouth of the lion and they could not kill Daniel, you can do it. You saved Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego from fiery furnace you can do it." I heard many preach that praising can turn the tables around and it can bring peace and solace in heart. So in my heart little faith arose. And when I was praising God I heard God speaking clearly to me in that ICU room. God said, "At the end there will be a result and your hope will not be cut off." Nitivachan 23:18, "Kyoki anth may phal hoga aur tary asha na tootegi" I heard this sentence twice in Hindi language and I remembered that I had memorized this verse long back and it is in the Bible somewhere. I did not hear the audible voice but the verse came as a thought of deep impression in my heart as if somebody spoke deeply in my heart. Prov 23:18, "For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off." Nitivachan 23:18, "Kyoki anth may phal hoga aur tary asha na tootegi"

As I had heard from the Lord finally my dad was healed. We heard from the Lord that's why we could take the right decision of putting him on ventilator. Six years have passed by since then and he is still living a normal life and is able to do all his work by himself. Jesus is so good.

I knew Jesus as my father and since then He is always with me and He is closer than a friend to me who always came when I needed His help most. I can tell hundreds of such stories from my own experience. I want to tell one more story before I close. It was 2008 when my dad was admitted in hospital with stomach ache and vomiting. One day as we were sitting in hospital my brother was feeling tired and sleepy so he said to my sister and I to sit in hospital so that he can go home and take some nap. He just left the hospital and a doctor came and she explained everything in great detail and said, "Your dad needs immediate surgery of gall bladder." It was a great shock for me. I told her that my brother will decide. I called my brother and told about it and told him to pray and decide what has to be done. Meanwhile I was praying and was scared about another trouble. I was thinking about the 2005 hospital visit, ventilator and the two month's bad ordeal etc. I said in my heart, "Lord I am not ready to go through it." Then suddenly I felt as if Jesus spoke. It was very clear as other times and He said, "It would not be that complicated". Suddenly great peace flooded in my heart right away and I knew that we have to go through this surgery and I was totally ready for it. When Jesus speaks He doesn't speak whole lot of things but most of the time it would be one line sentences and it brings such a great peace and it gives solution for the problems. I was so convinced and the next moment I was totally ready for this surgery of my dad. I think no one on this planet could convince anybody through one line sentences, but when Jesus speaks it convinces and brings peace. Cutting long story short my brother prayed and he felt that surgery is needed and it was God's will so we went with that and as Jesus said, "it was not complicated." Surgery went well and my dad left hospital after a week or so without any complications.

Through my own experience I can say God is not somebody who is sitting far away somewhere and we don't know who He is and where He is. By my own experience I can say Jesus is closer than the air we breathe. But to hear His voice and to know for surety that we have a place in heaven we need to become His child. We need to get connected with Him by receiving forgiveness of sin.

Jesus is the "prince of peace" when He comes He gives His peace in our life. Not only that but He is the resurrection and the life and He gives us eternal life. I can say with great confidence today that my sins are forgiven and if I die today I have a place in heaven.

You can have this wonderful salvation experience by coming to Jesus. You can receive the peace and joy which I received by coming to Jesus. If you are looking for a place in heaven I would like you to pray this prayer with me from the bottom of your heart. Let's us pray.

Lord Jesus I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. I believe that you took my place and you died on behalf of me. The sin which I committed you took it upon yourself and paid the penalty for my sin. Please forgive and forget my sins. Wash away my sins in your precious blood shed on the cross and give me eternal life. Please give me the assurance of heaven. I pray in Jesus name Amen.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
