Yet another shooting in school!! News says like this, "Two heavily armed gunmen opened fire on terrified students in a suburban Colorado high school on Tuesday, killing up to 13 people before taking their own lives, police said. All are asking one question, why this happened? Why...?? Because we have forgotten God, because we have kicked out God from our schools and invited devil and guns to our schools. On the one side you cannot pray in schools but you can bring guns in... what a tragedy? When this type of things happen we think of praying, but do you consider God as your servant? When you want, you can kick Him out and when you need you go to Him and pray? No, not at all...., He is sovereign God, He is almighty God, He is not going to dance at your tunes.... He says, in Isaiah 1:15, "When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood." If we read the Bible, we can see that whenever a person or a community rejected God, they saw death, destruction, curse and misery in their lives. If we read in Numbers 14th chapter, we can see that those people who rejected God were killed and the whole congregation could not reach the Promised Land... My dear parents if you want to see your child safe, growing, happy and excelled in life.... repent and come to Jesus. Come to Jesus before that your child may get shot or killed by this type of senseless violence. Come to Jesus who gave us assurance of protection. The Bible says in Psalms 32:7, "You are my hiding place; you shall preserve me from trouble; you shall surround me with songs of deliverance." In this Issue read a message by Bro. Vinod K. Isaac. This week we saw and heard of the shootings in Colorado. Suddenly a peaceful community is shaken up. Pain, suffering, cry and emotional scars that cannot be erased. The question, "Why" was being asked again and again, but no answer. I am going to discuss regarding what happened about 6000 years back. God created Adam and eve and placed them in a very beautiful garden called garden of Eden. Where was this garden? if we read Genesis 2:11 to 14 Bibles says that a river went out of Eden and divided into four parts and the name of those four rivers are Pishon, Gihon, Hiddekel (Tigris), Euphrates. If you look in the world map of Turkey and Iraq you can find Tigris and Euphrates River in the map. From this information it appears that the garden of Eden had to be some where in the mountain of Turkey. God had provided, every thing needed for life in the garden, and only the fruit of one tree was forbidden. And God said, "The day you will eat the fruit of this tree you will die." Alas Adam and Eve did eat the fruit and lost the glory of God. So what? Bible says that sin entered into the World through the disobedience of Adam and Eve. Romans 5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" And also Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23a, "For the wages of sin is death." Now keeping this in mind let's move further. Adam and Eve found out that they are naked because the glory they had was gone. Now they heard the voice of God and hid themselves. Not only did they loose glory but they also lost their relationship with God and there by brought curse on themselves. But God did not give them up, Genesis 3:21 says "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them." They had to leave the beautiful garden to do hard work and earn for themselves. They started their new life style and had two children named Cain and Abel. Looked like, everything is going to be OK. They might have thought that they can forget what ever they did and can move on. Cain and Abel grew. Cain became a tiller of ground and Abel became keeper of sheep. They both brought offerings before the Lord and Abel's offering was accepted by God but Cain's offering was not. Something began to bubble inside Cain. From the outside it looked as if every thing was normal, but inside something was wrong. God spoke to Cain Genesis 4:6-7 "And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him." God warned him that the whole problem is because of his sin. But he did not listen. And sin did strike again. Genesis 4:8 "And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him." Suddenly the first family on the face of the earth was shaken up. And the first murder was seen on the face of earth. Why, the reason is very simple "sin." Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" And also Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 6:23a , "For the wages of sin is death." But here is the good news Romans 6:23b "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord," Yes my friend, Jesus is the only hope we have in this world of despair and loneliness. He came to this world to save sinners and to give them eternal life. John 3:16-20, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. Further in Romans 5:17 to 19 Bible says Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." If you are ready to repent and turn to Jesus. He is ready to forgive you and cleans you with His blood that He shed on the cross. Would you like to pray this prayer from the bottom of your heart. Lord Jesus I accept that I am a sinner. I accept that you shed your precious blood on the cross for my sins. Please wash me with your blood and make me clean. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart and make me a new person. In Jesus name Amen.
Today in our society we see most of the time, people rejecting God, despising Him saying, "there is no God......God is dead.....I do not need God.......Don't tell me about God.......I don't want to hear about Jesus ........" How sad it is, isn't it? When a person forgets God, know this for certain, there is bound to be destruction ahead. Without God you can not do anything. If you forget the Creator, if you despise Him, one day He will despise you. The day will come when you go to Him and beg for His mercy, then He will say I do not know you. I saw many people in my life how proud they are, how they despise fully talk about God and about God's servants. Once I was in south India to attend some relative's marriage. I was in one house. There was a lady who looked like a servant in that house, but later I came to know that she is the owner of that big house. She said something, which I could not forget. She said "lot of preachers (updeshi) comes to our house. They come only for money. I just give them Rs. 2 (it comes to 5 to 10 cents in US currency) and simply send them away." When I heard these words I felt as if she slapped at my face. Many times people talk about God and God's people with such disdain. They forget God's grace, they forget that they are alive because of God's abundant mercy. About the people who despise God, what the Bible says. Isaiah 5:24, "Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, And the flame consumes the chaff, So their root will be as rottenness, And their blossom will ascend like dust; Because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel." Ezekiel 20:13, "Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, 'which, if a man does, he shall live by them'; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them." Let us see from the Bible how people despised God and what the consequences were:1. King Saul: God selected Saul to be future king of Israel, once he looked as approved of God. He was anointed by God. But the sad thing is, he failed to obey God and His commandments. He obeyed people more than God. Many times we see the same thing where people think of pleasing man and not God. If I do not drink in party what will people think about me? Will I not look like backward person? If I do not go for movie what will my friends think about me? If I do not smoke I may lose my best friend? If .........If........and If........ You cannot please God and man. Pontius Pilate pleased people but he could not please God. He gave order to crucify Jesus Christ because of people. And preferred Barabbas a criminal instead of Jesus. King Saul rejected God and he lost everything, his kingdom, even later his life and eternal life. 1 Samuel 15:23, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king." 1 Sam 15:24, "Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.2. Esau: Second person is Esau. Esau was a skillful hunter, it looked that he was a brilliant man in his time and his father Isaac loved him. But we see how he rejected God and God's blessings. He despised his birthright. Genesis 25:31-32, "But Jacob said, "Sell me your birthright as of this day." And Esau said, "Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?" Genesis 25:34, ":......... Thus Esau despised his birthright." 1. He despised God and rejected His blessings. 2. He decided to kill his own brother. Genesis 27:41, "So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, "The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob." When a person walks away from God all evil things start coming like : suicide, murder, hatred, envy, backbiting, anger and so on.... Esau rejected God and what did he receive? God's curse came upon him. Malchi 1:3, "But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness." Obadiah 1:9, "Then your mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, To the end that everyone from the mountains of Esau May be cut off by slaughter." He never despises the broken and contrite spirit. If you are broken because of sin, turn to Him and He will heal you and give you rest. He will make you His child and give you a place in heaven. As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
