1 Peter 1:24-25, “because all flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, but the word of the LORD endures forever." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.”

Bible compares human life as the flower of grass that is today but tomorrow will not be in this world. Very often I marveled and thought, “what is the purpose of having so beautiful and lovely flowers which blossom and remain just for only one or two days and then fade away. The whole world proclaims the temporary life or shortness of life in this planet earth. No matter what you are, no matter what you have done or what you have achieved in this world, still your life is very short in this world. And none of your achievements, fame, name, money or wealth will go with you. Job says in Job 1:21, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there…”

Yes, life is very short, but many do not care about their lives. Many think that when they are old and when they retire from their job, they can seek God. They think that in their young age they do not need God. But many could not reach that age as they fade away before they retire from their job. Many are so busy that they do not pay much attention to seek God. And many think that they do not know what tomorrow will bring for them and so they just enjoy the day they have. And they live in the pleasures of this world.

Once I heard a poem and the summery of it is: A beetle who used to enjoy sucking juice from flowers was sitting on a lotus flower. It was evening time, but he thought, “oh, let me enjoy some more time here before dark. So he lingered for more time and he did not realize that the sun was setting and that it was getting dark. He tried to fly away from that place, but he could not because the Lotus petals have already closed. When he could not get out of the flower, he decided to spend the night there itself. He waited patiently for morning when the petals of the flower will open up and he will be able to get out of the flower. But to his utter despair morning never came for him as the flower never opened again as the flower along with the beetle were eaten up by an elephant. It was the end of him.

Today many of us are like this beetle who do not care during their temporary life and about their life after. Bible says in Heb 9:27-28, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.”

Jesus has also shown the way how to escape from the Judgment of God in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”

My dear friend, take a moment from your busy life and when you are still in this world make sure that you need not to face the judgment of God. Receive the everlasting life offered by Jesus while you are in this world itself by repenting from your sins and turning to God before it may be too late.

Correction - the best medicine for Soul

By Sheela Isaac

Many people are there who call themselves as saved and spirit filled, but when you look into their lives we see that they stink with sin and filthiness. Their lives are a stumbling block for many who do not want to come to God because of such saved sinners. These people continue their lives in sinful practices and never want to correct themselves. Why do they, who claim to be saved, does not show the nature of the Savior.

There could be two reasons for that.
1. They may not be saved, but may just be pretending to be saved and holy.
2. They may be really saved, but may still be living in sin and practicing it freely without any fear.

What the Bible says about saved people? How their life should be?
Bible says that they should be holy.
1 Pet 1:16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."
1 Th 4:7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

Again Bible says, "if you are really saved let your work show it through your holy works that you are really saved".
Titus 1:15 To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.
Titus 1:16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Here Bible says clearly, "they profess to know God but in works they deny Him." It means that they call themselves as saved, but they do not show it through their conduct. They pretend as a believer but their works are filthy and sinful. If you are a saved person you must know how to conduct yourself in holiness. Otherwise your claim is useless. Jesus said, "they will know you from your fruits that you are My disciples." Are our lives a testimony before other people? Is our conduct holy according to Bible? If not, we have to examine our lives and correct it.

Holiness is a process, but Salvation is an instantaneous experience. Let me repeat one more time, Holiness is a process, but Salvation is an instantaneous experience. When you repent from your sins and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, immediately you get saved. It is called Salvation. But holiness is a process (2 cor 3:18). As you walk in spiritual field day by day and correct yourself your life becomes holier and holier.

2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 Cor 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

See first verse 2 cor 3:17, it says, where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. When Lord Jesus comes inside to live with a person, that person receives liberty i.e. liberty from sin. It means Salvation brings liberty in one's life. But the next verse says that our life transforms from glory to glory, just as by the spirit of the Lord. The same spirit of the Lord, which cleanses us from sin during salvation, brings transformation in our life and it is a process. This process is called holiness. It means that the first step towards holiness is Salvation. Without salvation there is no question of holiness. Holiness cannot be achieved by any other means or by good works but only by Salvation.

Now, how can one correct herself/himself?
There are many ways through which God corrects a person. But here are a few of them.
1. Word of God
2. Prayer
3. Prophets and priests

1. Word of God:
We heard hundreds of times that Bible reading and meditation is necessary for spiritual growth. It is food for soul. As without food no one can survive in the physical realm, in the same way, without spiritual food no one can survive in the spiritual realm. If you do not eat for months you'll surely die, in the same way you may be a saved person, but if you do not read and study Bible for months together your spiritual life will starve and will surely die. It is not a silly matter but you could lose your place in heaven without any spiritual food. So be careful to read Bible every day and study it. It will correct you in your spiritual walk. If you read Bible, it describes the life of various people who lived on the face of the earth. It describes about their success and failures - stories of their spiritual journey. It helps us to correct ourselves from such failures. It helps us to know what is sin in the sight of God and what are the things requiring correction. So make sure to read your Bible daily and correct yourself.

Many read Bible to find out faults with others. Some people read Bible not for their own spiritual benefit but to find faults with other people. Once somebody said, "Today I was reading the Bible and found this verse for you, it best suits for you". That's is not the correct way to read and study the Bible. Read it and correct yourself, if you really want to see spiritual growth in your life and want to please God.

2. Prayer:
Prayer is another vital part of our life, which corrects us in our spiritual journey. When we repent from our sins and ask God for forgiveness of our sins, the process of correction begins. As I said earlier, Salvation is an instantaneous experience, but Holiness is a process. When you have repented from your sins, you got saved instantaneously, but you do not become holy instantaneously. Your past sins have been forgiven during salvation but the future life is still ahead of you. You have to save that future life also with holiness. Now it is your sole duty to correct yourself each and every day along the way and keep yourself holy. God will not do it, but it is your own duty to keep yourself holy. It means that if you are not willing to correct yourself from sinful desires, God will not do anything in it. If you still want to live in worldly pleasures and indulge in a sinful life style, God will not help you in it. But if you take one step towards holiness, God will certainly come and help you to move forward and will help you to take another step in holiness. That is why it is a process. You do not become holy overnight, but you practice it in your day today life to achieve that perfect holiness. Paul says in his letter, "I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, so I myself should not become disqualified".

1 Cor 9:25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
1 Cor 9:26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
1 Cor 9:27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Be vigilant to correct yourself during the prayer time. You know what are the areas, which need correction. You know what are the sins you are committing. You know what your weaknesses are. When you bring those things before God during prayer the correction process begins. When you plead before God for holiness the correction process continues. As during salvation, when you have repented, in the same way you need to repent from each and every sin of your life daily. When you do it in a daily basis, after some months or years you'll find that your life is totally clean and holy. You'll find that you no longer commit those old sins anymore. You'll find that you do not have those old desires to live in sin anymore. That is how cleaning process continues.

If you are a saved person and are not able to lead a holy life, try this method and believe me it will yield results. It will help you to lead a victorious life with Christ.

3. Prophets and priests:
God speaks through prophets and priests and through other believers. If a person (prophet, priest, believer) who is speaking to you is walking in the ways of God in holiness and have ability to hear from God, the person’s spoken word may be from God. God speaks through His people in many ways through messages, through general conversation and so on.

Every criticism, which comes against you, is good for soul. Did you hear that!! Yes each and every person who criticizes you in any way in any form, should always be considered as good. It will save your soul from ruin. Every criticism which you face, take it seriously, pay attention to it, it may save your soul from destruction. John Hagee a great preacher once said, "if somebody says flattering words at your face consider him/her as your enemy". Flattering words have ability to destroy a person. When all the like-minded wrong doers join together, they boast each other saying, "buddy you are doing great, go ahead, keep on doing it". They may be cheating others, may be extracting money or may be conspiring many wrong things against others but still think that they are correct. If somebody comes and speaks flattering words at your wrong doings don't be puffed up as he/she is pulling you to hell fire. He/she does not love you, but is your enemy. They will destroy your soul in hell fire.

But, on the other hand, if you are a true believer, heed every spoken word from others whether it may be criticism or may be hurting words. Take it seriously and examine it in the light of Bible and always correct yourself if you are indeed wrong or if you are not wrong simply ignore it. Yes it is the step toward success. Don't cry all the time saying, "look they always criticize me, whatever I do they don't like it". Every criticism, which comes against you, is good for soul. If you correct yourself at the right time, it will save you from hell fire. You may not be able to find your faults yourself. That is why God keeps Prophets, good believers and good priests around us so that they can correct us.

Bible speaks about prophet Nathan. When David committed adultery with Bathsheba, God sent prophet Nathan to him. Nathan comes and says to David, "you are the person who committed sin". 2 Sam 12:7, "Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man!...." What was the reaction of David? Did David say, "look I am the king of this Nation, you are nobody to correct me". Did David say to him,"I am the only leader over you so you should respect me or you do not have authority to talk to me like this". No, Bible says, he repented from his sins. 2 Sam 12:13, "So David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." He knew that God is speaking to him through prophet Nathan. He repented from his sins and that is why he saved his soul from hell fire. God spoke to him through His prophet. Today also God speaks through His people. But the question is, how many are willing to correct themselves. Those who correct themselves saves their own soul from destruction.

Yes my friend, if somebody criticizes you, take it seriously, look into your own life in the light of the Bible and correct yourself. It will make you perfect. It will transform your life in glory to glory. It will help you to walk in holiness.

May God help you to achieve perfect holiness.

At the command of the LORD

By Sherly Isaac

Num 9:18-19, “At the command of the LORD the children of Israel would journey, and at the command of the LORD they would camp; as long as the cloud stayed above the tabernacle they remained encamped. Even when the cloud continued long, many days above the tabernacle, the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD and did not journey.”

The above verses explains how the Israelites continued to camp when the cloud covered the tabernacle. Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents. No matter how many days the cloud covered the tabernacle they stayed at that place but when cloud was taken up they journeyed and went to another place. And the Bible tells us that “at the command of the Lord the children of Israel would journey, and at the command of the Lord they would camp.”

God led them in every step of their lives. If they had to journey, they looked towards God whether they should journey or not? If they had to camp at a certain place they looked towards God whether they should camp in that place or not?

We have a God who wants to lead us in our every step, where to go, what to do and what not to do. How many of us ask God whether we should go to a certain place, to the market or to travel to other city or country or not? How many prepare message asking God, what to tell? Today many Christians believe that we do not need God’s guidance anymore because we have the Bible. If we need any guidance, God will guide us through the Bible. It is true that God can guide us through Bible verses, but what you will do if you are in a situation that is not mentioned in the Bible. It happened to Moses also. Moses had the Law and God given directions, but there were times when he asked God what to do in certain circumstances.

For example, God told Moses, "Let the children of Israel keep the Passover at its appointed time. On the fourteenth day of first month, at twilight, you shall keep it at its appointed time. According to all its rites and ceremonies you shall keep it."

Now Moses had the Law written as commanded by God to observe the Passover, but we read in Numbers 9:6-8, “Now there were certain men who were defiled by a human corpse, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day; and they came before Moses and Aaron that day. And those men said to him, "We became defiled by a human corpse. Why are we kept from presenting the offering of the LORD at its appointed time among the children of Israel?" And Moses said to them, "Stand still, that I may hear what the LORD will command concerning you.”

Moses knew that they had to observe the Passover on the fourteenth day of first month but when those men came to him with a special problem, he did not know what to do? He said, “hold on, let me ask God.” Then in the next three verses we read that God said in Numbers 9:10-11, "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'If anyone of you or your posterity is unclean because of a corpse, or is far away on a journey, he may still keep the Lord's Passover. On the fourteenth day of the second month, at twilight, they may keep it. They shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.”

This was not an isolated example when Moses had to ask God to guide him in the right direction, but there were many incidents when Moses did not know what to do and he asked God. Whenever people rose up against him, he fell before God and asked what to do? And in a similar example we read about Zelophehad’s daughters. Zelophehad had no sons but had only daughters. And till that time there was no law to give inheritance to daughters. So they stood before Moses, before Eleazar the priest, and before the leaders and all the congregation, by the doorway of the tabernacle of meeting, saying: “Our father died in the wilderness; but he was not in the company of those who gathered together against the LORD, in company with Korah, but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons. why should the name of our father be removed from among his family because he had no son? Give us a possession among our father's brothers." So Moses brought their case before the LORD. (Num 27:2-5 )

And further we read that God told Moses what to do with the property of that person if he does not have sons. Not only Moses, but every prophet and every person who looked towards God for His guidance, were led by Him marvelously. In the New Testament time also we do not see as if His guidance had ceased. We see that He continued to lead people. Jesus Himself said in John 16:13, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Jesus said about Holy Spirit that, “He will guide you into all truth…. and He will tell you things to come”. Holy Spirit is given to believers so that we could know what to do in different circumstances. Many a times we do not know what to do and where to turn but if we ask Him, He will surely guide us just like He did for Moses and other prophets.

A few years back I was watching a news report about a woman who left her home with her nine months old baby to meet her friend. She stopped in front of a shop to enable her friend to take some photocopy. While her friend was taking photocopy she was waiting for her in her car with her baby. She heard the noise of milk bottle of her child who was in the back seat falling and so she left the driver’s seat to take care of her child. As she was taking care of her child, one man jumped in to the driver’s seat and drove away the car. After a few hours she was miraculously rescued by police. Later she told in an interview that when she was getting ready to go to her friend’s house, she heard a small voice, “stay home” but she ignored the voice of God and thought, “I have to go just nearby and I will come back soon.” And because she ignored the voice of God, she was in big trouble.

Yes, God still leads people and He is very much interested to lead you, guide you in the right direction. If you want to know His will for your life, the first thing you need is to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior by repenting from your sins. When you get this experience of salvation, you are a child of God. Then God will lead you. And the second thing is to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised in John 16:13 and as the disciples received in Acts 2nd chapter.

Preach on Brother. I have been poor and have had in abundance all things. But, take the Holy spirit and my belief in Jesus Christ away, I would surely die!!!!!.
Shirley Dickens

All I need to look at is what Jesus has promised:
"For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? "And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.

"But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!

"Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?'

"For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (Mt. 6:25-33)

That alone tells me where our priorities are to lie...
--David Green

Dear Sister in Christ
Read your article in the editorial. There are lots more people like P.N.Benjamin. They call themselves Christians, but take active part in meetings conducted by Hindu swamijis and follow their instructions. Satan is trying to use Christians to be against Christianity. In our daily verse ministry most of the people who say no to read a verse daily from their mailbox which is given free are Christians.
Rev. Justin

Praise The Lord ,
Don't worry about what others say. You must and I am sure you will keep up the good work.

Santosh

Bless you dear, S. Isaac, for telling the guy that the children's needs are met by our great God. Yesterday, a friend and church member testified how God wonderfully met his needs though he went through many difficulties. He commented that God fed his children--he said I never saw a Christian going around begging in the name of Jesus. Blessings to you from this side
