14th of Feb. is celebrated as Valentine day or festival of love. There are so many types of love in this world. Some love others seeing their wealth or high position. Some sincerely love others, while for some it is just a show from the outside. We are living in a world where it is hard to find genuine love. Once I heard a message in which the preacher said, "faithful people are endangered species... the faithful people are fast vanishing from the face of the earth." How true it is!

Still many are out there who really love and are faithful or loyal to others no matter what may happen. Jonathan was one such person who loved David with all his heart. On the one side he could have chosen the royal throne of his father Saul, kingship and wealth, but on the other side there was a poor shepherd named David to take care of. Jonathan did not care about his father's money and high position, but he cared about his friendship with David. Because he loved David so much, that he was willing to sacrifice anything for him. He even warned David time and time again of what his father is after him so that he can be careful etc. Jonathan gave information to David about Saul's plots against him and protected him from the evil eye of Saul.

One day Saul got very angry with Jonathan and said, (1 Sam 20:31-32), "For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. Now therefore, send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die." And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said to him, "Why should he be killed? What has he done?"

Jonathan loved David more than money and position. So he did not go after these things. But today there are many who call themselves to be "Christians" but they cannot be trusted. They are the most unfaithful people in this world. Why? Because either they have refused to take the nature of Christ or they have never known Christ.

Though our first parents sinned and were not faithful to God yet God loved us so much that he gave his only Son to die for us. It was because of His love for dying humanity. He could have chosen comfort rather than coming and dying for insignificant creatures like us. But it was love that compelled Him to come down and die for us. Today He is calling you to accept His love. Will you respond to His call?

Unfading Love

By Sherly Isaac

When I was in high school I read a true story which ran in the local news papers. There was a young and famous dentist in Bombay, India. He had a beautiful wife and two little kids. One day while he was washing his face, he saw a small boil in his mouth. He did not really pay much attention to it. But when a few days passed by and when the boil became painful and bigger he was worried. As a dentist he had some idea about what it could be. So he went for a thorough check up. His worst fear became true when he heard that he had mouth cancer.

When his wife came to know about this devastating news, she reacted in a very unusual and cruel way. She isolated him and refused to bring their children in his room saying that his disease could spread to her or to the children. As days and months passed by, his boil became more painful and unbearable, but his wife had no mercy on him. She left him alone and went to her parents house with her two children. He pleaded with her to see his two children but she refused to bring them in. Finally he got court order to see his children and the court ruled in his favor. She came with the children and stood very far away from him and she did not allow him to touch or hug the children. Later on that dentist died heartbroken and in a very miserable condition.

This is the love of a human being. When everything goes well and wonderful, it is easy to love and respect, but it is not easy to love a useless person. Yes, I said, "useless person" because that person is of no use to you when he/she is sick or having no money.

But Bible says about a love that is as strong as death and that many waters cannot quench that love, as we read in Song of Songs 8:6-7, "Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, A most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love All the wealth of his house, It would be utterly despised."

Death is for sure and it is irreversible. One day it will come to every person. The author compares genuine love with death which is irreversible. Bible study notes say, "for who can loosen the hold of death, and what hero is more victorious in conquering all than death."

If you love a person, you will never want him/her to see dying. Death is not a pleasant thing but it is terrible. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, on that day the relationship between God and human being died down. It was death of that wonderful relationship. And that terrible tragedy brought "death" and "separation" from God. If it was a painful event then there is another event which is joyful - bringing life in our lives. When God saw that we human beings cannot have life again, he sent His only Son to die for us so that we could live and enjoy in His presence. He came down to build a bridge between us and God. He came down to bridge the gulf between us and God, between our relationship with God.

Yes, that was the love of God. When He saw us dying in our sins, He could not see anymore and came down to save us. He gave His life for us so that we could have fellowship with God and we could go in His presence.

He not only came to save our life from eternal death, but He also wanted to restore our relationship with fellow human beings. You may be having a relationship with your husband or wife which is dying or already dead. God can restore your marriage and He can heal your wounds. He is the Life. He can breath a new life in you and in your relationships. Turn to Jesus, He is ready to help you.

Dear friends in Christ
I am so blessed reading your last week's letter. At present I am going through the most difficult phase of my life and finding God very silent. Please pray for me. I have completed my education (masters in social Work). Now I want to work so I am really seeking Gods will. I want to work where God wants me to but He seems to be very silent. I am just waiting on Him. Please pray for me in this regard .

Praise Him..

Dear loving sisters and brother in Jesus Christ,
I am a frequent reader of your Godly articles/messages which inspired me to be closer to our father in Heaven. During last two months, I was on vacation and amazingly I got married to a loving lady and true believer in Jesus Christ. I strongly believe that this is a Heavenly gift and a long awaited miracle due to my previous personal request for a prayer in this respect. Prayers are answered unexpectedly. Our Jesus lives and loves us. Let us praise His name!

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
