Many a times we find that some who are criminals go unpunished while some who are not involved in any criminal activities get punishment. When I was watching the trial of Martha Stewart the founder of Home Decor company who got convicted, I felt very sorry. It seems that she had not committed any crime serious enough, yet she was convicted and will be sentenced in the month of June 2004. There are many who might have killed people or committed big crimes but are roaming on the streets freely.

There have been widespread violence against Christians in India but most of the Newspapers never even report those violence. Those who report the news of persecution are also threatened by Hindu activists, RSS, VHP and BJP workers. Injustice!

Recently there were many inappropriate decisions taken by Judges on gay marriages. From the Conservative Petitions website, "The God-ordained institution of marriage just suffered the most tragic and ominous blow yet at the hands of the well-organized and well-funded homosexual movement. On Nov. 18 the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts struck at the heart of the traditional family by ruling the state's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, thus deciding homosexual couples should be allowed to apply for marriage licenses." This resulted in many homosexual couples arranging their weddings and getting marriage licenses.

Violence has become a part of this world. You can see horrible bombings, killings, suicide bombings and these types of violent occurrences are in everyday news.

When we see injustice, wrong doings and violence, very often we ask, "where will all these things end?" Is there any justice or law or morality? David prayed the same prayer in Psalms 7:9-11, "Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart. God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day."

You may be going through injustice. But there is a God in whom you can trust who is righteous, just and His judgments are true. He is a God who loves righteousness and hates wickedness. Bible tells us in Rom 3:23, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Bible also says in Rom 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." God puts human being in two categories righteous or sinner. If your sins are forgiven by the shed blood of Jesus, you are righteous in the sight of God. If your sins are not forgiven you need salvation of your soul.

Jesus is coming back to judge the world. Have your sins been forgiven and are you ready to meet Him? If not, ask Jesus to forgive your sins. He will gladly do that and will give you eternal life.

Promise of Holy Spirit

By Sherly Isaac

Jesus said to His disciples in John 16:7, "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you."

Jesus promised to send the Helper or Holy Spirit after His departure from this world. He spoke about the bad things which would happen to His followers. Those things filled the hearts of His disciples with sorrow. But Jesus told them that He will not leave them alone but Spirit of Truth will come and guide them and lead them and will be with them to teach them in every step.

Jesus also said in John 16:16 "A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father." When Jesus spoke these words, the disciples were confused and said, "we do not understand what he was saying?" Jesus saw their confusion and replied them in John 16:22, "Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you."

Jesus was trying to tell them that on earth He is in human form, but it is good that He goes back because He will be coming back in the form of Holy Spirit. Bible tells us that, "God is Spirit." Holy Spirit is none other than the Spirit of God. When a person gets filled with the Holy Spirit, God Himself comes down and lives in him/her. Bible says in Prov 2:10 that God protects them from evil when wisdom enters their hearts, and that knowledge is pleasant to their soul. Bible also says in Prov 1:23, "Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you." Jesus said in Acts 1:8, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

We read time and again from the Bible that when the Spirit of God came and filled a person, he did mighty things for God. Not only in the Old Testament but also in the New Testament the pattern is the same. In the book of Acts, 2nd chapter we see that when the disciples and others were gathered in one place, Holy Spirit came and filled them. Those ordinary fishermen who had not studied in any school or theological collage became so powerful and dynamic that the high priests, Pharisees and Sadducees were disturbed and they lost their sleep. They were very much worried because this small group of disciples have converted many to Christ.

Yes, Holy Spirit gives power to preach the Gospel with might and power. When Holy Spirit comes in one's life, He transforms him from the ordinary to extraordinary. But unfortunately many Churches have ignored the power of Holy Spirit. Many believe that Holy Spirit is not for them or when a person gets salvation he/she is already filled with Holy Spirit. But Bible speaks differently. It is like a person who is very thirsty who goes to a spring and takes bath several times but does not drink the refreshing water from the spring. Unless he drinks the water, he cannot quench his thirst. Taking bath can refresh a person and cleanse him but it cannot quench his thirst. Taking bath and drinking water both are two different experiences. Both are important in its respective places. The same is with the experience of Salvation and the Holy Spirit. Both experiences are different and when a person gets salvation he/she is eligible to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit.

When a person accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior he/she gets the seal of Holy Spirit as we read in Eph 1:13, "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise." Bible also says in Acts 5:31-32, "Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."

Salvation and Holy Spirit both are available for every human being. These are free gifts given graciously by God. If you have not yet received these precious gifts, you are missing the most wonderful thing in your life. Come to Jesus and receive. He said in John 7:37-38, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." He is calling you today, will you come to Him?

Praise Him...

Earlier when ever I posted a prayer on this website all my request have been answered by God so I believe God is going to work wonders now too.
Thank you
K.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
