David and Goliath's story is well known to Christians. David was just a young man of sixteen years of age. He was not in the army and had no military training. He was a shepherd boy. When Goliath the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him. His dress and his style to go in the battle field was sounded complete nonsense and very silly to Goliath. He thought, "I will knock this little boy down in a few moments and will go home and rest. The task was very easy and simple for a mighty man like Goliath. We read in 1 Sam 17:42 So the Philistine said to David, "Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, "Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!" At times we disdain others, think low about others and we do not consider it as a big deal. But God keeps record of every word spoken against the children of God and He returns those curses and spoken words to their own head. We read the amazing victory of David in 1 Sam 17:45, "Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied." And in 1 Sam 17:47, "Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hands." So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hastened and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled." Above passage from Bible tells us that, what Goliath spoke for David, it exactly returned to his own head. We must be very careful before we speak anything against anybody especially against the true children of God who are washed by the blood of Jesus. Our pastors have done a bad job giving us false hope that, no matter what we do, no matter how we live there is no judgment. But it is not true.There is a God who cares for His children and defends their cause. Touching His children is as of the touching the very eyeball of God (Zec 2:8). How could God keep quite if anybody touches His eyeball? About couple of years back a group of people tried to kick us out of the church. They tried all their tricks including threatening our lives. One day God said, "those who are trying to kick you out will leave the church themselves and you need not to worry about this problem." My sister often said in amazement, "....but why they will leave the church in the first place? There is absolutely no reason for them to leave." But to our surprise just fifteen days later a big group of people decided to leave the church. The reason is still unknown to us. But we sure know that what they spoke and did, it exactly returned to their own heads. Dear children of God, are you afraid of those giants who have ability and power to harm you? But let me tell you, there is a mighty God in Israel who is able to protect and deliver small people like David who walk in His ways. Let not your heart be troubled. Just trust in Him. If you have done wrong against children of God, please repent, humble yourself before God and turn to Him. He will surely forgive and forget all your sins. Bring your sins under the blood of Jesus and be washed by the fountain that flows from the Calvary's cross. There is redemption in His blood.
God's plans are different than what we think. And if you want to know what God has kept for you and for your life it is only possible by hearing His voice. In entire Bible we see the same pattern continuing where people of God, prophets and true believers were all the time hearing from God. Abram heard from God, his son Isaac was hearing from God. Knowing the will of God is so important for a believer. If you are not hearing from God then you might be missing many valuable things in your life. Unless and until you hear from God how can you know what God has kept for your life?My brother wanted to go in Electronics field and I was in biology field. One day the Lord spoke, "you are all going to be in the computer field." Then only we knew that computer is the right field for us. I began to learn basic things of the computer. When I came to US after few months I had a privilege to attend a church convention. The preacher was sis. Priscilla Dhairium (Jesus calls evangelist). After the convention we went to meet her. She prayed over me and told, "you will start your first job with high salary." I began my job hunt with basic knowledge of computers and got a job in LaSalle Bank with 11$ per hour salary. Worked on the first day of my job. The woman who was my supervisor looked pretty serious whole day. I was scared to work in such environment. Came home the evening phone call came saying, "you need not to come for work from tomorrow onwards." I began to think why? why? it was so then only I remembered the prophecy spoken few months back by sis. Priscilla, "you will start your first job with high salary." . Then only I knew that I joined the wrong job, which was not intended for me. When we fail to hear from God and take a wrong step with our own thinking it could end up in failure. When it happened I seriously prayed and asked the Lord what to do. The Lord said, do not hunt for job but learn HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). I found one tutorial in web and began to go through it and began thinking, "HTML? it is too hard and I do not want to learn it." I asked God again, "are you sure, do you think I can learn HTML?" The Lord said yes. The more I looked it the more it sounded like math and physics with some formulas and with some dangerous codes. I made up my mind that it is not going to work and I am not going to master it in my life time. Meanwhile I began to learn PSP (Paint shop pro) the graphics designing. It really fascinated me. I had an aquarium so I was really interested to know more about this hobby too. So now I began to spend my time in PSP tutorials and aquarium message boards. I totally forgot what the Lord has said. A year passed since the Lord said to master HTML and I did not do it. But indeed I could master the aquarium-o-logy. By this time I knew how to keep fish healthy, how to diagnose sicknesses, how to treat illness and what medication should be used. I treated many fish for their ailments and they lived longer years. The God said to Jonah go to Nineveh but he went to Tarshish. Jonah 1:2, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me." Jonah, 1:3 "But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD." My condition looked the same. One day my brother asked, "Are you learning HTML?" I said, "I do not think I can learn it and it does not interest me." My brother tried to teach me and gave me some books. One day he said, "so you are not willing to hear God?" After few scolding I understood it was serious. So with tears I began to read books though it did not look interesting at all. Decided to learn it anyway and could learn it in few months. After a year I was wondering and thinking, "it was quite easy then why did I made up my mind against it?" When I found out that I know HTML very well I asked God, "now what." The Lord said, "find a job but not less than $20.00 per hour salary." I thought, "who is going to give me a $20.00 job when I do not have any computer degree nor have a certificate which I could show, "I have just learned HTML." My search began and weeks turned into months and I was fed up giving interviews after interviews with no apparent result. Meanwhile people were bugging me frequently asking weird questions. One said, "you are not able to get any jobs right?, You came from India so you can't get a good job unless you study here." The other one said, "You do not know English why can't you stand in some store so you can learn English." The other one said, "you are lazy that's why you do not want to work otherwise how much money you would have earned by this time." Well people talk too much without knowing others conditions. The pressure was mounting and we three were not able to get any job. We began to think, "are we going in wrong direction, or the people who are talking much are correct." One day during the family prayer the Lord said, "I have not brought you in this land to make money or sit and enjoy. I have brought you in this land to do my work. If you want to make money go and whatever job you want to do, do it and forget about the ministry." When I heard it with tears in my eyes I said, "Lord I will do your ministry no matter what may come, job or no job it does not matter." Few more months passed and I attended one more interview. The person in Recruiting Agency took the interview and directed me to company named "Fast Web" for further interviews. Interview went well and I got the job as HTML programmer. I joined the office with $20.00 per hour salary and began to think when God works it really turns up pretty easy. When I sat on that beautiful cabin with good computer, with telephone and with comfortable rotating chair I thought in my heart with tears of gratitude in my eyes. Only God has done it otherwise I could have never reached to this position. If I had not heard from God I would have never known about the high position job that God had kept for me rather I would have been standing in some store working for minimum wages ($5 per hour then). I would have never been able to stand for eight hours and worked for that many long hours with pain in my legs and back. Knowing the will of God is how important even for a secular job. If you are not hearing from God how can you know what job God intended for you? How would you know what career God has kept for you, what person God has appointed for you for marriage, what education God has desired from you? If you are a minister of the Gospel and if you are not hearing from God how can you know what ministry God has kept for you? Look at the life of prophets and people of God who were working for God. The Bible says they were all listening from God and they have done great things for God. If Moses had not heard from God he would have never returned to Egypt nor he could lead more than 600,000 people to freedom. If Elijah was not hearing from God he could have never been able to bring the fire down from heaven. If prophet Samuel was not hearing from God he could have never anointed David as king for the kingdom. This incidence looks pretty interesting. When prophet Samuel went to Jesse's house to choose one of his sons to anoint him as king over Israel what happened? The Bible says Jesse's seven sons were brought before him and every time he thought this must be the person because he looks handsome. But the Lord every time said no this is not the person. 1 Sam 16:6, "So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, "Surely the Lord's anointed is before Him." 1 Sam 16:7, "But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Sam 16:10, "Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, "The LORD has not chosen these." Finally Samuel asks Jesse if he has any other son. 1 Sam 16:11, "And Samuel said to Jesse, "Are all the young men here?" Then Jesse replies him saying youngest son is not here." You all know the story finally Jesse sends some one to bring David from sheep tending work. When he comes Samuel hears the voice of God and he knows for sure that this is the right person. 1 Sam 16:12, " So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!"Unless and until you hear from God you cannot succeed in your life. Unless and until you know what ministry you are going to do your ministry will stay as fruitless ministry. The funny thing is God does not reveal all the things at once. First He gives an outline what the ministry would be. Then He speaks few things what next you've to do. When you follow it and are able to do it then only God reveals the next mission. And this process goes on. So you can never say at any point that what ministry you are going to do next year or two years later. If you ever want to do successful ministry you need to stay in constant touch with God because it is a constant listening and following process. Jesus also says the same thing in John 15. John 15:4, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." John 15:6, "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned." Abiding in Jesus means not only knowing Him as personal Lord and Savior but also staying in constant touch with him. If you are constantly listening His voice then only you can walk according to His will. If you are not listening the voice of Jesus then when He would expect from you to build a church for Him but you might be building a casino for Him. He might expect from you to do mass evangelism but you might be doing personal evangelism. If He expects from you to do child evangelism you might be doing prison or slum ministry. If He expects from you to go as Evangelist you might be going as Pastor or vice versa. If He expects from you to go and work in Africa but you might be working in US. See how wrong you would go in your ministry if you don't listen to God, then how could you expect that your ministry should flourish. It is not going to flourish because it is not the will of the master. If you are not in the center of the will of the Lord how can you say that you are abiding in Him? You can't!!!
Thank you for your prayers! In the past days and weeks I was in the hospital many a times because of my health issues. But now it is just better. I have a good physiotherapy for my left arm. My high blood pressure is now under control. Our move will be finished on 11th April. By the examination I have got the best marks. I am grateful for all the success! As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
