Bible tells us in 1 Cor 15:56-57, "The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." And also in 1 John 5:4-5, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"God wants us to be victorious in every field of our lives. He delights in giving victory to His children over sin, temptations, problems and over life's different situations. Without Him it is impossible to have a victorious life in every field of your life.There was a time in my life when I did not know God though I was born in a devote Christian family. My life was complete failure. Whatever I touched it ended up in complete disaster and complete failure. I struggled and struggled in my exams to score even passing marks. No matter how hard I tried the success was far-far away from me. There was nothing but great frustration, guilt of not coming up to the expectations of my parents, shame of defeat and complete disappointment and dissatisfaction in my life. I realized that I am no good for anybody not even for myself. Great fear gripped my soul thinking I have no future, if I continued in that failure. At times I thought that, "why I should live like this anymore... and why not end my life and get rid of all fear and worries of my life." But I am glad that God protected me from all evil plots and plans of devil. In those frustrating moments of my life I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I confessed all my sins before Him and invited Him to come into my heart. My surrounding situations did not change over night but a great peace filled my soul. All the feelings of frustration and disappointment left me. God slowly started blessing my studies and me. My failures turned into victory. After finishing my B.Sc (BS), I had no courage to go for any further studies. I thought, "I may not be able to bear the pain of anymore failures in my life." But that time one evangelist came to our home and while we were talking he said, "If you will not study any further, there is no future for you. Because even in any street you can find hundreds of young people who have B.Sc. Degree and they are wandering without a job." He continued further, "How could you expect to get a good job without having much qualification?" His advice seemed valid to me. So in the next session, I applied for M.Sc. (Master of Science) but because I had only 54% marks in my Bachelor's degree program, I could not get admission. Meanwhile I applied for M.A. and joined the course. About two months later one day I was glancing through the college notice board and to my surprise, I saw my name in the list of M.Sc. I could not believe... how it could be, I thought. I read it again and again and it was indeed my name. So I went inside the office to inquire whether it was my name on the list or not. The office clerk looked at the list and confirmed my name. She said, "The University has just changed the rules last week..." I stood their stunned thinking, "University changed rules just to accommodate me?" I have no idea what she said after that. The last thing I remember of walking out of the office building having great excitement and anxiety at the same time. Excitement of having a seat in M.Sc., but the anxiety thinking, "Will I make it this time without failure?" After reaching home, I spent much time asking God whether it was His will or not. To make the long story short, I joined the M.Sc. I prayed that, "Lord, Please help me to get at least second division but make sure that I may not fail this time." I prayed and also worked very hard. There were days when I studied until 3 or 4 O'clock in the morning. I can say that I prayed more than I studied. When results came, God blessed me beyond what I had asked to Him. He gave me first class and second position in my college. Because of my high ranking, I was offered assistant professor's job in the same college. In India where nothing is possible without giving bribe, God made a way for me to have a job without paying single naya paisa (Indian currency). Second thing Jesus did in my life was, He took away all worries of my future from my heart. Yes, there is a God who wants to bless us beyond our imagination, our thinking or even asking. Bible says in Eph 3:20, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us," I know that many of you are going to face annual exams soon. Are you in similar situation? Give your life to Jesus He can help you. He will make you victorious in every field of your life. Because of sin Adam and Eve could not come to the expectations of their heavenly Father but He made a way. He came down in this world and gave His precious life for us so that we could come out of our sins and excel in every field of our life. Give Him a try He will not disappoint you.
God's Divine Provision and Protection - Part 2
You might have read my sister's article "Ministry is not a bed of Roses" at and also 2nd and 3rd parts of that message. God divinely protected and provided for us in those days.Everyday when I read the newspaper, I was completely devastated because most of the time it reported, how someone's life was in danger. Though he had filed complaints with police yet was murdered after many months or even years. I always thought, "May be one day, this will be the end of our lives too." Those stories filled great horror in our souls. But we put our trust in the Lord. We gave our worries to God and believed that, He is able to protect us from all evil.Of course He protected us and kept us alive. As He said in Zec 2:8, "for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye." No one could touch us nor could come near us. Bible tells us in Luke 13:31-32, "On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You. And He said to them, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.'" No one could touch Jesus either until His time came not even the King Herod.One day my mom and I went nearby shop to purchase some grocery. Two young men followed us from a distance. One was saying loudly to other, "what a pity that you could not even drive away a small goat." He repeated again and again the same thing. We knew that, it was not because of our ability or might but because of God's divine protection for His children, we survived. Once we could not go out of our house for many days. We had no idea how to draw money from our bank account and purchase grocery. That time we were running a small craft class. One day out of the blue five girls came to learn certain courses and we received 500/- Rs. (Indian Currency). It was an amount that has God miraculously provided for us and was sufficient for us to survive for many days without worrying about going to bank. Are you worried today about your safety and provisions? The same God who protected us and provided us, the same God who did mighty things for His children from ages, could do the same thing for you.
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 10th Aug. 2010
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 10th Aug. 2010
