2 Tim 3:1, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.."The things written in the Bible are now more and more visible as the time is progressing. A few years ago it was not in this scale as today. The climate is changing, the prices are climbing, violence is increasing, we are hearing more and more news about wars and more wars, and epidemic outbreaks are frequent now. In one word, the fear is all over the place. We have not seen these many tornadoes, hurricanes, snow storms, heat waves and extreme weather in past as we are seeing now. Glaciers are melting faster than our scientists thought. Fear of Bird flu is still lurking. A few months back after shopping as we were coming out of the mall, we saw a board which showed a finger and said, "now its easy to pay by touch without using credit card." It really scared me! The other day my brother and sister went to a supermarket and there the sign up form for this new system called "pay by touch" was being distributed. I started wondering where we are heeding? I do not know how much time we have for our Lord's return but it is for sure that we are moving very fast to that direction. The book of Revelation talks in detail about the horrible things that are about to come in this world. Thousands of years ago God's Holy prophets and apostles wrote about the things that they might have not fully understood. They told us the things that were coming and now we are seeing it happening. On the one side Bible talks about perilous times but on the other side Bible also talks about great outpouring of Holy Spirit and great blessings for God's children. In the book of Acts we read in Acts 2:17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.'Is your heart failing when you see the devastation because of severe weather, price hikes, epidemics or other things? Jesus said in John 14:1, "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me." If you are a child of God, you need not to fear or worry about the things taking place around you. No matter what may happen, God is our protection. Bible describes in the book of Revelation that, even when the horrible things are taking place at the time of tribulation yet God did not forget His servants and His children. We read in Rev 7:1-3, "After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, "Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads."Perilous times will not affect you if you are a child of God. If you are not a child of God, there are bad days ahead. Turn to God and become His child today. Accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Walk in His ways and be blessed. Please pray this prayer with me: Lord Jesus, please forgive and forget all my sins. Wash me with your precious blood. Today I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my life and give me assurance of eternal life. I place all my worries and fears into your mighty hand. Please take away all my fear and worries and fill me with your divine peace that world cannot give. Thank you Lord for listening my prayers. I give you all the glory and honor. I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
Luke 22:42, "saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." Jesus prayed this prayer with much agony when He was about to be crucified. He said, "Father not my will but yours be done." Reading this verse or preaching on this verse is very easy. But unless and until you walk though this kind of experience you can never understand this verse. We see many people doing ministry with ease and without any trouble. But if you want to do the Lord's ministry with genuine desire and with truthfulness it is not that easy. None of the disciples of Jesus lived an easy life nor our savior and master Jesus Christ. All were suffered for the sake of the Gospel and went through much pain and heartache. Preaching the true Gospel became snare for them. Obeying God and following is not that easy task. Sometimes it takes everything out of you where your personal desires and self dies. Pathway of Calvary is a process of self-denying and dieing experience, where one has to crucify everything even self and the desires of the heart. It is a process of following the Savior Jesus Christ as an obedient soldier and obeying the orders seriously. How many ministers of the Gospel are following Christ diligently today? I can say very few. You can number them in your fingers. Unfortunately most of the ministers and the ministries are working for selfish gains and money. That's why we hear perverted Gospel everywhere. Today I would like to describe my personal journey as a minister of the Gospel. I think most of you do not know my personal story of pain and struggle. I hope and pray that this story would touch many hearts and bring solace and comfort. As marriage is everybody's dream I always dreamed of marrying an Engineer. As my dad was an Engineer I knew living in Engineer's home is a very prestigious and luxurious thing. Though my dad was an engineer my brother sister and I got the same honor from subordinates of my dad. It was a very luxurious life where we had servants, jeep, driver, money, good home and everything a person could dream of. Well this dream stayed in my life till I got saved. At the age of twenty I found Christ and got saved. My dreams and desires changed as my life was also changed when Jesus came into my heart. Now I began to think about marrying a person who is a mighty minister of the Gospel with mighty anointing upon him. By then I knew that Engineer, doctor or a big profession is not a prestigious job in the sight of God or in God's kingdom. At the age of twenty-three I got filled with the Holy Spirit in one of the meetings of Br. S. R. Manohar (Rays of Love ministry) with speaking in tongues as Jesus' disciples and 120 people received the anointing . Acts 2:3, Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them." Acts 2:4, "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."Till then I never knew nor anybody preached that for marriage also we need God's approval and seal. In Indian culture parents chose the right person and you just marry that's what I knew. The day I got filled with the Holy Spirit I came home and began to pray. When you receive the Holy Spirit for the first time it is such an exciting experience that you cannot control your joy and you would pray for hours together. As I was praying I saw my first vision (Acts 2:17) of my life and it was about marriage. Acts 2:17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.' After that God showed me few more visions about marriage during next 4-5 years time. Those visions were like different pieces of puzzle and when you add those pieces together you can describe what the qualities of a person would look like. As usual many marriage proposals have come and gone. I prayed every time to know the will of God and the Lord said this is not my will so I left it. Few were exceptionally good and were spiritual one so I asked God to show me some confirmation that I can know for sure that it was not the will of God. And God showed me few dreams to prove His point. Marriage was kept delaying and delaying and my dreams looked fading away and dieing. But I was still willing to follow Christ. When I was in India I had many friends and neighbors but they never bothered me about marriage. So nothing bothered me but just a thought was there that if you don't get married society will harass you and mock you in future. After coming to USA it became a reality. I heard all kinds of derogatory comments and bad remarks. I began to think, 'not getting married is not a sin' then why people want to make my life miserable. They showed their engagement and marriage rings and were laughing and mocking and making fun. It became a painful and hurtful experience. Those spoken words never fade away. I hardly remember them now but when it comes in my reminder it still hurts. If you go through one or two such experiences it could be ignored but when these types of things continued I began to lose my joy and peace. Every time first they made fun of me then they brought some divorced, widowed or fifteen or twenty years older person's proposal for marriage. It became a real nightmare in that extent that I began to even hate the very thought of marriage. One day I returned home after hearing such bad remarks. I came back home as a beaten down, depressed and as a totally broken down person. I was angry with myself, I was angry with everybody who spoke such things and even I was mad at God. I said to God, "Lord is this what you wanted me to give after all. Did I not wait for your will patently? Did I not obey you even in marriage matter? Do you want me to get married with somebody like this? Instead of marrying somebody like this I would prefer to stay alone." The next whole day also I was upset and two thoughts were going on in my mind. 1. To find somebody and get married and forget about the ministry and the Lord's will and stop all the mocking. or 2. Forget about the marriage and continue the ministry and follow God diligently.I was all-alone in the basement definitely very upset. I heard the clear voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to me. The Lord said, "you came this far, you served Me these many years, are you willing to go away leaving the ministry in half way?" I replied without any hesitation, "No Lord definitely not. Whether I get married or not it is not a big deal but I will serve you till my last breath. I will follow you and obey you let what may come" When I said this to the Lord I literally felt the deep depression and the heavy burden lifted off of my heart. The joy unspeakable filled my whole being. I felt peace and tranquility as never before. Since then eight years have passed by I never felt depressed again not even a single day. Now I can say with confidence that I am a happy person. Since then I attended many marriages with keeping my heads high. Yes there is a solution for everything with Jesus. Look to Jesus and you will never be ashamed. Trust Jesus, look to Jesus always when in crisis and surrender your whole being at His feet and say, "Lord you can do it but let your will be done." One word from Jesus turned my despair and tears into joy unspeakable. Do you think He showed me those visions without any reason? No!! But that day I said to Jesus, "Lord take your time, if I get married that's fine with me and if I do not that also fine but I am determined to serve the Lord." I tried this key with many other problems and it works. Believe me it is the key for your deliverance. When I get in crisis I never pray those stupid prayers saying, "if I do not get this I will do this, or if I do not get married I would die or if I do not get job I would kill myself or if I do not get passing marks in exam I would kill myself, if I do not get this I would reject God and turn away. No never pray such prayers it would not work. Three Hebrew children Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego declared the same thing when they where in their life's worst crisis. They were asked to renounce God and worship the idol of the king or die in fiery furnace. They replied to the king, "O king our God is able to save us from fiery furnace but if not we would not bow before other gods but would prefer to die instead." Dan 3:16-18, "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter." "If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king." "But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up." Did they die in furnace? No But Jesus Himself came in the midst of the fire and rescued them. Dan 3:24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king." Dan 3:25 "Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."Are you depressed today? I know many of you are also going through the similar situation. We receive many emails saying, "I am 35 and I am not getting married, or my sisters are getting older and they are not getting married, or I am getting older and my parents are also getting older I do not know what my future would bring and who is going to take care of me." I would say never give up. Do not lock yourself in house. Face the challenge and the society head on, face it on it's face otherwise it would push you in deep depression and ultimately could kill you. Not getting married is not a sin then why hide from people and live in tears and pain? Let me tell you not getting married is not the end of the world either. Not getting job? is not the end of the world either. It is an exam season in India and later in USA. Getting failed in exams is not an end of the world either. Don't kill yourself but you can make it in next session or next year. No problem is bigger than Jesus. Look to Jesus, ask His help and definitely He will come for your rescue. Say to the Lord what may come but I would love you and live for you all the days of my life. What may come I will praise you for your goodness. Believe me this simple prayer would turn your situation around.
Psa 7:14-16, "Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, And has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown."Australian missionary, Graham Staines and his two sons, Philip, 10, and Timothy, 8, were burnt to death by a mob in the year 1999. Graham Staines and his wife Gladys were serving among leprosy patients in a poor Indian village of Orissa. Gladys was expecting her husband and sons to come back home alive and well but she could only see their charred bodies. She was completely heartbroken yet her statement that, "She has forgiven her husband and two sons' killer" shocked whole nation. BBC News reported, She added: "I am terribly upset, but not angry. My husband loved Jesus Christ who has taught us to forgive our enemies."Now what those murderers and attackers got? In the year 2003 one man was sentenced to death and 12 others to life imprisonment by Indian court. But still they can get forgiveness of God by putting their trust in Jesus. Though Gladys forgave them still they were brought into judgment. What they had done returned to their own heads.At times we take things very lightly and do things that are not good. We speak ill of others. But my friend, there is a God who cares for His children. Every word spoken against His blood washed children, every bad thing done against His holy children will return to you in the same measure.A few years back one day we were fasting and praying and God told my brother to call the pastor and tell him that, "because he is not walking in the ways of God, God is going to remove him from this church." Well, that afternoon my brother called Pastor and conveyed the message of God. A few days later there was a fasting prayer in the church. The prayer group leader asked my brother, if he could share something from the word of God. My brother prayed and God gave him message from Isa 1:2-4, "Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the LORD has spoken: "I have nourished and brought up children, And they have rebelled against Me; The ox knows its owner And the donkey its master's crib; But Israel does not know, My people do not consider. Alas, sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the LORD, They have provoked to anger The Holy One of Israel, They have turned away backward."He spoke about the pathetic condition of children of God who do not recognize their creator and their heavenly father. He also said the same prophecy about pastor. In that meeting most of them where committee members. They got very upset and very angry. They thought that because we have some personal grudge that's why my brother spoke like that. Instead of repenting they took it as a challenge. One person said, "no, no, no, Pastor has come in this church for five years and he is not going anywhere until five years are over." A few months later one Sunday morning the pastor roared from the pulpit saying, "The door is open, you can go out.... but don't create trouble in the church... The church will go on because its God's church." I thought in my heart, "what type of God's church it is when all the illegal activities are going on in the church?" Committee members ruled over congregation with iron fist following months. They wrote nasty letters to every member. They did what they wanted. They tried their best to kick us out of the church. They took decisions in the committee meetings that, "this person should not be given any position in the church..." They spoke about disciplinary actions against us. Even they tried to kill my brother. Many told us to file a complaint in police station and make them to go behind bars. But we gave our battles in the mighty hand of God. And a day came when God Himself kicked them out of the church and even they are not in any position in the council. What you will sow, you will reap one day. But how big and merciful our Lord God almighty is. If we repent and turn to Him, He will forgive and forget all our sins. If God is with you, He will take care of your battles. You will not need to fight your battles. God will do everything for you. God said in 2 Chr 20:17, "You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you."Instead of giving Him a fight, come to Him, humble yourself and give your life to Him. He will bless you. If you fight with Him, you will lose your own life. Surrendering your life to Him is the wisest choice you will ever make.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
