We are seeing more and more weather changes, extreme climates, not only in USA, but around the world. In USA, the land is drying up in the west because of extensive heat and the east is flooded with water because of heavy downpour. What's going on? Why this earth has become so unstable? Do these things have any relationship with our sins? God says in 2 Chr 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."When Solomon built the house of God and at the time of the dedication of the temple, he prayed this prayer in 2 Chr 6:26-27, "When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them, then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance."These verses suggest that our sins could affect the weather system, climate and atmosphere around our dwelling place. Bible tells us about Ahab, king of Israel who did wrong against God as we read in 1 Ki 16:30-33, "Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, more than all who were before him. And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him. Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. And Ahab made a wooden image. Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him."Then we read further in 1 Ki 17:1, 'And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word."' Bible also tells us that there were no rain in the whole land for three years. As we read above, God promised that if we repent, humble ourselves and turn from our evil ways then He will forgive our sins and heal our land. God is willing to heal our land and bring blessings to our nation. 4th of July is the Independence day of USA. Will we humble ourselves, pray and seek His face, repent and turn from our sins and call upon His name in this time of year? Are we willing to go on our knees and call on Him so that He could have compassion on our land?We wish our readers a very happy 4th of July. Have a safe and joyous vacations time. Last time we talked about how the deceptive devil works and Da Vinci Code is just another deception from devil. Today we are going to analyze Da Vinci Code a little further.Da Vinci Code is a Fiction not FactMost of the time devil packages the deception so cunningly that it looks as truth and tries to make truth look like false. Same is the case here. Author of Da Vinci code has taken bits and pieces of history and have inserted his own speculations into it to come up with a fantasy story.Few facts to be noted are that there is absolutely no historic record that will suggest that Mary Magdalene was married to Jesus. Let me repeat "Not a single historic record". All Dan Brown has done is speculation.One of the sources Dan Brown used is probably a book called "Gospel of Mary Magdalene". I have read so called "Gospel of Mary Magdalene" myself and to me it looks to be a forgery. Well this book also doesn't say any thing about any marital or sexual relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. So even given the source of this book Dan Brown is just day dreaming.1. Co-relational problem indicating to forgeryIt's content doesn't collaborate with Old Testament either. Few chapters are missing so you can't make sense of what really is being said in it but certainly it looks to be contradicting Old Testament books as well as New Testament books.Bible consists of 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament books. 39 books are coming directly from Jewish sacred books. In fact Old Testament is what is called Hebrew Bible or Written Torah among Jews. Arrangement of books is different but content is the same. For any religious text to be authentic it will line up with the Old Testament text. If God is speaking and since God can't contradict himself the text will have the same theme and same subject. If you look at all the 66 books of the Bible you will find that one single theme and subject runs through out all the 66 books. That subject and theme is, ‘Man has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God’ and this mankind needs a savior.When it comes to a broken sinful life there is only one solution and that is Lord Jesus Christ. Millions around the world have experienced the transformation in their lives through the shed blood of Lord Jesus Christ. This transformation is something that psychological counseling cannot bring, medical drugs cannot bring and science cannot bring. People who were sitting in darkness have seen light, light that shines in darkness.Simply speaking, there is no correlation between Old Testament and the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.2. Historic evidences that indicate to forgerya.) These books were found in the desert of Egypt, not in the land of Israel, while there is no historic evidence to suggest that Mary Magdalene might have traveled to that area. Even the so called "Gospel of Thomas" (That also looks to be forgery) was also found in the same place while history says that Thomas traveled to India not to the deserts of Egypt. So the place from where these books were found put a lot of doubt on the authenticity of the documents. Certainly Mary Magdalene and Thomas did not write these books for sure. So the question is who wrote these books?b.) The date these books were written is around the late 2nd century AD or 3rd century AD. That is about more than 250 years after the death and resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ. Definitely Mary Magdalene and Thomas were not alive at that time. Not only that, more than 250 years of gap is a big gap for it to be authentic.3. Speculation based on secrecy of ChurchDan Brown has built his book and movie on the wrong practice of today's churches called "secrecy", the way church handled Catholic priest abuse scandals. The way church burned people who stood up against wrong doctrines of church like burning of William Tyndale and others gives a wide opening for critics to say, ‘see Church is not honest so why trust the Biblical text.’Yes it is a sad chapter that today's churches are not honest and are not transparent. I admire Bible for one reason that it has not tried to hide the wrong doings of even people whom it portrays as great people. For example King David is a hero and is revered even up to today. His life is open for people to understand that even great people fall and can stand up again by the grace of God.But if you look at today's churches and their records you will find probably that only the good things are recorded and all the bad looking data may not be there because they are hidden and that's the reason why people keep on living in sin and the difference between sin and holiness seems just to have disappeared. It often looks as if sin and holiness kiss each other right in the Church. The place that is supposed to be a place of high morals and ethics suddenly looks like a breading ground of all kinds of things that are not appropriate.Dan Brown has tried to take full advantage of this contradictory image of today's Churches and has tried to play with human psychology by indirectly saying, ‘see for example what today's churches are, so what can be trusted about something written 2000 years ago?’ A very good try but in the light of scrutiny it doesn't stand up to the test.Disciples of Jesus believed in what they preached and they believed it so much that they even gave their life for this cause. No one in the world will be willing to give his life for a lie they created themselves. Well that tells the difference and that's why many of today's church leaders are not willing to lay their life for the cause. When pressure comes they just change their message and look for their survival instead of standing up for the truth.If you look at Dan Brown's history you will find that he is a product of a Church not an outsider. His mother was pianist for Church. He himself attended Sunday School and participated in Choir. So what made him to go and attack the church then? Answer is simple, there is a big void between “an ideal life in Jesus Christ” and “today's Church lifestyle”. Probably he could not find answers for his life's quests in the Church. Probably he tried to search for Jesus and could not find Him in the Church.If he had found Jesus, just one encounter with Jesus would have changed him completely. Because it is not the church that transforms it is Jesus who transforms lives. I myself as a young boy at the age of 15 looking for answers in life, reached to a point where life looked meaningless. Money wealth and fame looked no good. Wanted to end my life but it was at that time that Jesus stepped into my life. At a leadership camp of Campus Crusade for Christ, I was challenged to accept Jesus and I did. What a change in my life. Years have gone by and I never had to look back and say life is worthless. Instead Jesus gave meaning and purpose in life.You can have this wonderful life, only look to Jesus. Tell him Lord I am a sinner and I can't come out of sin by my own efforts. I believe that you died for my sins on the Calvary's cross. Please cleanse me with your precious blood and make me a new creature. Come into my heart and reign in me. Be the King of my life. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
From the last two weeks I am constantly seeing on TV, news about Global warming. One report said, "Earth is the hottest it has been in at least 400 years, and possibly even the last 2,000 years."Whether coincidently or not, when I was reading the Book of Exodus I came across the plagues which came to Egypt, I said, "wait a minute! It wasn't because of global warming..." Then what was that which systematically destroyed the land of Egypt? I can say that the reason was nothing more than Pharaoh’s and Egyptian's arrogance and rebellion against the most high God.In the book of Exodus we read about the King of Egypt who was afraid of the Hebrews because they were multiplying and growing greatly. So Pharaoh the King of Egypt ordered to persecute them. But when the Israelites got hardship and went through tears they cried out to God and God heard their cry. God sent Moses to deliver them from their hard bondage. Now when Moses came to the land of Egypt there was no sign of extreme weather. But he stood before Pharaoh and told him the will of God that Israel should be allowed to go out of Egypt. In reply to it Pharaoh said in Exo 5:2, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, nor will I let Israel go." And it was the beginning of all trouble in the change of weather of Egypt.First change came in the atmosphere when Moses stood before Pharaoh at the bank of the river and the water turned into blood. Fish that were in the river died, the river stank and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river. All the Egyptians dug all around the river for water to drink, because they could not drink the water of the river. Then we read about the seventh plague on Egypt which brought very heavy hail that rained down and destroyed the crops, livestock and people. We read in Exo 9:23-26, "And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail." And also in Exo 9:31-32, "Now the flax and the barley were struck, for the barley was in the head and the flax was in bud. But the wheat and the spelt were not struck, for they are late crops."A big hail storm came because Pharaoh could not bow down before God almighty but rebelled against Him. The amazing thing was that still Pharaoh did not learn the lesson. Further we read in Exo 10:4-6, "'Or else, if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory. And they shall cover the face of the earth, so that no one will be able to see the earth; and they shall eat the residue of what is left, which remains to you from the hail, and they shall eat every tree which grows up for you out of the field. They shall fill your houses, the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.' " And he turned and went out from Pharaoh."Then Pharaoh's servants said to him in Exo 10:7, "How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?" still Pharaoh did not move nor heed his servants but he was indifferent to the destruction of his land by the hand of God. The plague came and struck the land of Egypt and the Bible tells us in Exo 10:13-15, "So Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind on the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested on all the territory of Egypt. They were very severe; previously there had been no such locusts as they, nor shall there be such after them. For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they ate every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. So there remained nothing green on the trees or on the plants of the field throughout all the land of Egypt."What was remaining was eaten up by Locusts and there remained nothing green on the trees or on the plants. The same Pharaoh and his army followed the Israelites when they were on the way to Canaan. They met them on the brink of Red Sea. Next thing happened was the destruction of the whole Egyptian army, their chariots and horsemen. All these things happened because the Egyptians rebelled against God. Had they heard the voice of God in the beginning they would have not seen all these destructions. Today also we can see that the True prophets of God are being mocked and their words are esteemed as silly because of hardness of their hearts and because of the rebellion of their hearts. But little they know that they are destroying their own lives. My friend, repent from your sins, humble yourself and turn to God before it may be too late. Let the will of almighty God be done in our lives and in our nations. Let us not stand between God and His will as a stumbling block. Sin of our life could destroy not only our life but also our nation. Let us not destroy our land and our nation but let us turn to God with humble heart.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
