We see that different ministries within the church have been ordained by God Himself. 1Cor 12:28, "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues." And also in Eph 4:11, "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers."Teaching and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the third ministry. Once when Jesus went to the synagogue, He opened the scripture and read from the book of Isaiah which says, Luke 4:18, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."The original text reads like this (Isa 61:1-3), "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."This is what the Gospel of Jesus Christ does to a person, restoration, deliverance, freedom from bondage, sight to the blind including spiritually blind, healing to the brokenhearted and liberty for the bruised. Jesus came in this world and preached this Good News to all the people whom He met. Wherever He saw a person in need, a person in bondage, a person in tears, a person in need of physical healing in any of those circumstances He was moved with compassion and did mighty miracles for them. Every time when Jesus mingled with the people, He spoke about hope and the great future for those who believe in Him. He said in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." The very purpose of the coming of Jesus in this world was to give us eternal life. He died on the cruel cross on behalf of us so that we could have life. And the good news is that we can have eternal life through the shed blood of Jesus. Not only had He come in this world to give us eternal life but also to give us abundant life - a life full of peace and joy. If you are sick, you cannot enjoy life. If you are living in poverty and in debt, you will definitely lose your peace of mind. If you are about to lose your house and belongings, you will be worried all the time and probably it would take away from you your sleep. If you are in bad addictions, you will not have any peace.But Jesus came in this world to give us a life beyond worries and fear, beyond bondages and addictions. He wants to give us peace that passes all understanding. Are you in bondage and in addiction? Jesus wants to deliver you and give you a new life. He wants to bless you in every area of your life. The whole mission of Jesus Christ was to bring this Good News that there is a better life, a wonderful life for us - a life full of peace and joy, a life full of hope, full of life. If you come to Him, repent from your sins and turn to Him, He will give you abundant life and He will make your life a blessing.
Witchcraft can Destroy your Life but Jesus can Restore your Life - 3
Once I heard a true story. In the city of Chennai (Madras) there lived a wealthy family who had an only son. When the boy was around ten years, his parents died. His wealthy uncle took him in his house. The uncle's family treated him very bad. Often he was not fed properly. Once the entire property of the boy's parents came to the possession of his uncle, he threw him out of his house. More than that they did witchcraft on him and because of that he lost his mind. As a mad boy he walked in the streets. If someone gave him something to eat, he ate. If someone gave something to drink, he drank and slept in the footpaths. His memory was erased, he did not know what his name was, what his home address was and who his parents were. Many years passed by but there was no change in his physical condition. One evening he was walking along the streets. As he approached one home he heard people singing worship songs. One family was doing family prayer in the evening. This mad man went to that house and sat there. When they were worshipping Jesus, all the powers of witchcraft and demonic powers started to leave him. This man saw a bright light and saw Jesus full of love and compassion. When he came out of that home, all the demons had left him and he was a new man now. His health was restored to him by the mighty power of Jesus.Slowly he started to remember things. His lost memory came back and he became a normal person. With the help of some believers he joined a Bible collage and was able to study. Now he is serving the Lord as a pastor.This is what witchcraft does to a person. It is powerful enough to destroy your life. But the mighty power of Jesus which is more powerful than these demonic powers can restore your life. Once Jesus found two men who were demon possessed and were very violent. Nobody dared to go around them. But Jesus just spoke to the demons "Go" and those demons left them. And their lives were restored. As we read in Mat 8:28-29, When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?" When Jesus saw those men He simply said to those demons, "Go" and they left them. We read in Mat 8:32, And He said to them, "Go." So when they had come out, they went into a herd of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep slope into the sea, and perished in the water. This is the mighty power of Jesus which is available for everyone who calls upon His name. Jesus is ready to deliver us from all evil and ready to restore our lives. If we call upon His mighty name, He will do mighty things for us.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th Apr. 2010
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th Apr. 2010
