EDITORIAL

The Bible tells about a person named Lazarus in Luke 16:19 – 16:28 that after his death he went to heaven. But the rich man in (at whose house gate Lazarus was laid being fed into the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table) went to hell. This story tells us about hell and heaven. Further if we read from Genesis to Revelation we can find many verses telling about places called hell and heaven. Many think that there is no such place.

When I was at Bhopal (India) I came to know about the experience of a young man in our church. He became very sick and finally doctors said that there is no hope for him to live. His brother went and purchased life saving injection. When the doctors were injecting the life saving injection, his soul came out from his body. He said, "I was knowing that I came out from my body and stood on air at the level of roof and I looked down where my body was lying and I could see that doctors were giving me life saving injection. I looked for a few moments and then I floated away from there and went through a tunnel. After few minutes I reached a place which was unpleasant and horrible. I was stopped there and could not move because of fear. And I heard thousands of voices calling me "come", "come"…. And I heard the noises like gili-gili and other sounds like magicians do. I was afraid and never wanted to move further… and after some time I return back to my body." He said further, "till today when I think about that scene, I feel a great fear. I can not live alone in my home…" This is not a one person’s experience but it is the experience of several people.

The following article appeared in the well respected Finland newspaper, Ammenusastia:

"As a communist I don’t believe in heaven or the Bible but as a scientist I now believe in hell," said Dr. Azzacove. "Needless to say we were shocked to make such a discovery. But we know what we saw and we know what we heard. And we are absolutely convinced that we drilled through the gates of hell!"

Dr. Azzacove continued, " . . .the drill suddenly began to rotate wildly, indicating that we had reached a large empty pocket or cavern. Temperature sensors showed a dramatic increase in heat to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit."

"We lowered a microphone, designed to detect the sounds of plate movements down the shaft. But instead of plate movements we heard a human voice screaming in pain! At first we thought the sound was coming from our own equipment." "But when we made adjustments our worst suspicions were confirmed. The screams weren’t those of a single human, they were the screams of millions of humans!"

Yes, there is a place called hell and there is a place called heaven, but the question is where will you be after death? In heaven or in hell? You have to think today and decide today. After death there is no chance of getting into heaven…. If you are not yet sure about your destination after death, then please pray this little prayer from the bottom of your heart: Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and I know my destination is hell. Please save me from this hell fire. I do not want to go to this place called hell. Please wash me with your precious blood and save me from destruction. Please fill me with your peace and joy that passes all understanding. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

World Rolls over to 2000 surprisingly smoothly

It was fascinating to see the World rolling over to 2000 so smoothly. No body knew till midnight of December 31, 1999 what Y2K had in its reach. And one after another all the countries celebrated welcoming the year 2000, seeing almost no sign of Y2K trouble. Soon there were discussions. Was it all hype or was the billions of dollars spent to correct Y2K utilized well or not.

I went through the articles, news and responses of people over the smooth rollover and was amazed to see that there was not a single word thanking God for the safety. Let me once again take you through those few incidents that happened on Y2K. Japan's two Nuclear Power Plants stopped because of Y2K problem, US Aviation detected last minute glitch of radar screen display delay of 10 seconds, US Spy satellite going blank, British 20,000 Credit Card processing machines going crazy, many of the web sites showing wrong date. South Korea Heating system failure because of Y2K, unconfirmed report of three missile launch being detected.

Pentagon spent $3.6 billion to correct the Y2K problem, but just one small mistake brought the key intelligence- processing computer to halt.

Now as these are confirmed reports of Y2K failure, it is more than enough to say that Y2K was a real threat if it had hit all over the place. Most Computer experts who were monitoring Y2K were amazed, still trying to think what happened why Y2K did not show up the way it was expected. Those who worked on Y2K are greatly relieved seeing that the corrections they had done did work out.

But there is another group of people who took the message of Y2K problem seriously and worked hard to get the word across the world and most of them are Christian workers. As always Christians stood as watchmen and sounded the alarm seeing the impending disaster. But now, many may be wondering and thinking, "what happened that things have gone so smooth." I want to tell them one thing Loud and Clear that we all did a great job by alarming the world and putting them to work to correct the problem. More over there were many, praying for the safety of the World and God did hear the prayers. And it is time to rejoice, seeing what God has done. The amazement I see among Computer experts makes me think that it is only the Hand of God moving that has keep us all safe.

Let me take you to the story of Jonah.

Jonah 1:1 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
Jonah 1:2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

Jonah the prophet was assigned a task to go and proclaim to the city of Ninveh that "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown." It was difficult for Jonah to go and preach. He thought, "what if after 40 days nothing happened", because he knew that the God He serves is a compassionate and loving God. Whenever a person repents, He forgives and forgets. Jonah ran from the presence of God, because He was not ready to be humiliated before the people of Ninveh.

But God did not allow him to ran away. God sent a storm in the sea, prepared a fish for him to swallow him up, and three days later he was back ready to go to Ninveh. He preached, "40 days from now Ninveh will be overthrown. And people and the king repented of their sins. So God forgave them and postponed the overthrowing of Ninveh.

And Bible says in Jonah 4:1 "But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry." yes he was very angry at God. A prophet who should have rejoiced seeing the redemption of the people is angry at God, just because God did not overthrow Ninveh. My dear preachers, pastors, you who said that Y2K is going to be disastrous, is it not now your time to rejoice seeing how safely the world rolled over to year 2000? Should we not thank our God, for He did such a mighty thing, that all of us are still safe and in sound health? I know we are here just because of the prayers of many.

Jonah was angry, but history records that Ninveh was overthrown later, because the sin of Ninveh had increased exceedingly great. Yes Sodom and Gomorah were destroyed because of their sin. If this world is not thankful to the King of Kings and continue in sin then that day is not far off when the destruction strikes from nowhere.

Remember that the coming of the King of Kings is near and it is at hand and those who are not yet ready preserved in Holiness will be left behind and there will be a time of only weeping and crying and there will be no one to comfort. Are you ready to meet the Lord when He comes back in the clouds? If not it is time for you to get your life straight with the Lord. Ask Him to come into your heart and cleanse you with His blood from all unrighteousness.

Adam, Adam "where are you!"

In the garden of Eden
God was searching someone
Whom He loved so much
With whom He talked every day
With whom He walked daily in the cool of the day
Today there was pin drop silence No one was talking, why?

Breaking the silence of the garden
Adam and Eve heard the sound,
A sound with which they were very much familiar
God was walking in the garden of Eden
Hearing this sound they hid themselves
Because they did what God had forbidden
They were afraid of God who was their friend!

Guilt and shame filled their hearts,
They were unable to face God
Same time God was searching desperately
To His beloved friends and He called,
Adam, Adam where are you?
Reply came, I am afraid…
Oh, so you did what I had forbidden?
Yes, Adam replied, that was it
God cursed them and sent them away…

But He loved Adam and Eve so much
He said, I will make a way out
I will rescue these sinful creatures from their sins
Because I can not see my own creation go to hell
Oh, yes, I will make a way out, He whispered
I will send my own Son to the world,
He will shed His precious Blood on the cruel Cross
and will take whole world’s sin on Himself


to save these unworthy people
And Jesus came down in the form of a man
He shed His precious blood on the cruel Cross
To save me and you and whole world!
But are we still hiding from God
Are we still hiding when He is calling?
Adam, Adam where are you?

Are we still hiding when He is knocking
At the door of our hearts?
Would you listen to Him today?
Oh, He is calling you lovingly
Come and open the door of your heart
And the King of glory shall come in.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th May. 2008

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th May. 2008
