Isa 43:1-2, "But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

These verses talk about the privileges of being God's children or redeemed of God. He says, fear not, for I am with you though you go through terrible trials I will be with you and deliver you from all your troubles. Though you pass through the waters, they shall not overflow you because I am with you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. This is the promise for those who are redeemed by the blood of Jesus. This is the promise for those who are adopted by God as His own children and accepted in His home.

Bible tells us about many who walked in the ways of God, how they went through terrible trials, suffering, heartbreaks, sicknesses, tears and sorrows, but God never left them nor forsaken them. At the end they came out victoriously out of all their trials. Jesus said in John 16:33, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Daniel's three friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego refused to bow down before the image of gold made by Nebuchadnezzar and because of that all the hell broke loose. They were called before the king and asked why they did not worship falling down before the Image? The king challenged them with these words according to Dan 3:15, "Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?" Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego replied in Dan 3:16-18, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."

When king heard those words, he got very angry and he spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore, because the king's command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. (Dan 3:19-22)

But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. And the Bible says in Dan 3:24-25, "Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king." "Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."

They were walking in the midst of the exceedingly hot fire and it did not harm them a bit. Not only that, king could see a fourth person walking with them whose form was like the Son of God. When they went through this fiery furnace, God did not leave them alone, but He came down and walked with them. He protected them miraculously that even there was no smell of fire on them, the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected. What a mighty God is He. His power is not limited. He is all-powerful and there is nothing impossible with Him.

You may be going through terrible times in your life today but if you are redeemed by the blood of Jesus, you need not to fear anything because He will be with you and deliver you from all your problems. If you have not yet accepted Jesus in your life, invite Him in your life and make Him your Lord and Savior. He will come into your life and wipe away all your tears.

Triumph Over Enemy

By Sherly Isaac

Psalms 41:5-11, "My enemies speak evil of me: "When will he die, and his name perish?" And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies; His heart gathers iniquity to itself; When he goes out, he tells it. All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt. "An evil disease," they say, "clings to him. And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more." Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me. But You, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, That I may repay them. By this I know that You are well pleased with me, Because my enemy does not triumph over me."

David says that though he went through terrible problems still God would be merciful to him and raise him up. And further he says, "by this I know that You are well pleased with me, Because my enemy does not triumph over me." This is one of the signs that you are walking correctly with God. On the one side problems and tears may come but on the other side you can see victory in your life if God is with you. David was 16 years old when he had to run for his life. For many years he had to hide himself in the valleys, wilderness, caverns and other places because Saul the king of Israel became his enemy. One side he had promise of becoming king in the place of Saul but on the other side, he was running for his own life. He had no idea whether he could survive or not, whether he would ever see the promises fulfilled regarding him. There were times when he said, "death is only a step away from me." It was not easy for him to run and hide from the king of Israel and his army. But Bible says in 1 Sam 23:14, "And David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness, and remained in the mountains in the Wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand."

Saul sought him everyday but God protected David and so Saul could not find him. David was going through terrible times in his life but at the same time his enemies could not prevail over him. You may be serving God and you may be going through much problems in your life but if God is with you, you will come out of your trials victoriously without seeing defeat in your life. But if you are seeing defeat in your life, you need to check up your life whether you are walking in the ways of God or not.

God not only protected David but made him the king of Israel. Promises of God in his life did not come true overnight but it took almost fourteen years. Now he became king and where ever he went, God gave him victory over his enemies. Bible tells us that no one could stand before him until he sinned against God. When he sinned against God, though he repented from his sins still consequences of sin was there. His own son Absalom became his enemy and he had to run for his life. But because David repented from his sin, God once again gave him victory over his enemy. And he could return to his throne once again.

Yes, if God is with you, He will make you a victor over your enemies and exalt you before others. As long as Salomon the son of David walked with God, God was with him and blessed him. God gave him peace from his enemies and prospered him exceedingly. He became very rich and had so much gold that he overlaid it on doors, floors and his throne. He had even all the eating vessels made of gold. People came to listen to his wisdom from all over the world.

But a time came in his life when his heart turned away from God. He started worshipping other gods which made God very angry. Bible says that God decided to take away the kingdom of Solomon from him and to give it to Jeroboam. When Solomon heard about his fate, he got so furious that he tried to kill Jeroboam instead of repenting and turning to God. And later on Bible tells us that because he did not walk in the ways of God, God took his kingdom and gave it to Jeroboam. Solomon's son could not reign over Israel but he could only reign over Judah and that was also because of the covenant of God with David.

Are you going through tough times in your life today and not seeing victory in your life? Examine your life and see if you are right with God, make your life right with God. Repent from your sins and turn to God. And if you are walking with God with all integrity of your heart then cling on to Him as you were all these days. God will surely deliver you and give you victory. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Just like He gave victory to David and exalted him before his enemies, God will do with you.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
