Now elections in USA are over and we have the results before us. One exit poll conducted by Washington Times says that moral values were the most important issue for voters above economy and jobs and terrorism. Results have really baffled media and others. I never saw media persons this much confused on any issue. They were trying to put puzzle pieces together in place why Kerry could not win in the elections and what went wrong. One news reader said, "It seems we were out of touch of main stream people." Another person said, "Media is not in the church and so they do not know what is going on in Churches. One another person said, "From the last two times now, economy is no more the most important issue for voters.More than that 11 states approved constitutional bans on gay marriage. Voters were given a chance to decide whether their state constitutions should be amended to ban gay marriage and they voted in favor of that with more than 70% in many states. We can see the changes taking place in a greater way. The Holy Spirit is moving mightily in this country. More and more people are recognizing that we need to draw a fine line between good and evil. Bible tells us about a young man who feared God and because he did not embrace evil and because of his actions God blessed him and exalted him to become ruler over Egypt. His name is Joseph. Bible tells us in Genesis 39th chapter about the story of Joseph. Joseph was sold and taken to Egypt. He served his Egyptian master and because of Joseph God blessed everything in the house of his Egyptian master as well as the egyptian's field because God was with Joseph. His master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made whatever he did to prosper in his hand. So he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had, he put under Joseph's authority. When the Egyptian master's wife saw that Joseph was handsome, she cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me." But Joseph refused and said to his master's wife, "Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?(Gen 39:9)"Later on Joseph was falsely accused and was put in jail and yet God was with him because he feared God and walked in the holy ways of God. A day came when the king of Egypt ordered to bring Joseph out of that prison and made him ruler next to him in power all over Egypt. God exalted him above all his brothers and gave him great honor in that strange land where he was a slave.When one man walked in the holy ways of God, God blessed him and exalted him. Then how much more will God bless and exalt a nation if the nation starts walking in the ways of God and acknowledging His holy will. Such a nation will not see defeat but God will exalt and bless that nation.Today you may be far away from God and may be indulging in so many bad habits and because of that you may be facing defeat, shame, misery, pain and sorrow, but if you look to Jesus, if you confess your sins and turn to the living God, He will change you and make you a new creation. He will help you to live a holy life. He will bless you and exalt you.
Psa 98:9, "For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity."Not only in the Old Testament but also in the New Testament we read that God will one day come and judge the world. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 25:31 onwards that, when He will come again, He will separate sheep from goats. In other words He will separate righteous from sinners and then He will say to the righteous, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.' Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.(Mat 25:41)"He shall judge the sinners:Those who rejected the great salvation of Christ will come under the category of 'goats' and they will get punishment of hell fire. Jesus said in John 3:18, "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." All these things make it very clear that God will not separate people according to their religion but according to their status, "righteous" or "sinner". Bible puts people in two categories "righteous" or "sinner". A person who believes in Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior is exempted from judgment. Jesus again said in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."Many are there those who are born in Christian families and who think that they believe in Christ but if they have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior then also they come under the category of 'goats' who are condemned and are destined for hell regardless of their denomination/religion.He will judge backsliders: Ezek 18:24, "But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die."Ezekiel 18th chapter tells us about those who will live and who will die. Of course this chapter deals with the life and death of soul. A person who sins will die but a righteous person will live. This is the same message Jesus spoke again and again and asked the people to repent from their sins so that they could live forever. Bible talks about two deaths. One is physical death and the other is spiritual death. A person born in this world is already spiritually dead because of sin. But he/she can get life by accepting Jesus as his/her personal Savior. Bible says in Rev 20:6, "Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." But if you die un-repented, unsaved, you will face the judgment of God because you have died twice - a spiritual death and physical death both.Once you are saved you must walk in holiness otherwise you will lose your salvation and you will face the same fate as sinners.He will judge false teachers and false prophets:Those who teach false things from Bible and those who prophecy in the name of God but the message being not given by God, will be judged by God. Gal 1:9, "As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed." Yes, Jesus is coming very soon to judge the world. Today check yourself and know whether you are in the category of 'sheep' or 'righteous'. If you are not sure, you must make sure by praying this simple prayer:Dear Jesus, I am a sinner, please forgive me and forget all my shortcomings. I repent from all my sins. Today, I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart and give me a new life. Now on I will live for you and walk in your holy ways. Thank you for listening to my prayers. I give you all the glory and pray in Jesus name, amen.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
