The first news which came today morning was the bombing in Landon, UK. Initial reports said that at least 45 people were dead and more than 1000 were injured. I started thinking, "how evil these people are who do not have any value for life." Their only aim is to kill innocent lives. I have no clue what benifit they are getting with their evil deeds but it is for sure that we live in an evil world. Sometimes I feel, "Can't we live in harmony with each other?" Of course we have different families, different opinions and different cultures but why fight? Oh, well, the problem is not of many different families or different opinions but the problem is evilness or wickedness at heart. In the beginning there was only one family - the family of Adam. In that family there were only four people Adam, his wife Eve and two sons, Cain and Abel. Could they live in harmony with each other? Bible tells us "no"! Bible tells us that Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. Both brought their offerings before God. Abel's offering was accepted by God but Cain's offering was not. Cain got very angry and was filled with jealousy towards his brother Abel. Even then God tried to point out the mistake of Cain to correct him as we read in Gen 4:6-7, So the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." But Cain was not listening. Finally he killed his own brother. There were only four people in the family and yet they could not live in harmony with each other. What was the reason? The reason was very simple. Cain was born in a fallen world or in a corrupt world. Adam and Eve sinned and lost the presence and goodness of God. Cain got the same fallen nature from his parents, the same sinful nature ruled his life and it destroyed his brother's and his own life. He became a cursed person. The same sinful nature is continuing even today and we see all kinds of evil, wicked and sinful nature in human beings. The greatest question is, "what is the remedy for all this evilness?" There is only one solution - the blood of Jesus Christ! Jesus the Son of God shed His precious blood for every person so that we could get forgiveness of our sins and live a holy life. There is no other way to solve this problem. Many have tried to solve this problem their own way but failed miserably because they tried with their might and power, sidelining Jesus - the Prince of Peace. If you want to see peace and harmony in your life, in your home, in your community, in your country and in this world, there is only one method, "Invite Jesus in your life." When Jesus will come in, He will change everything. He will give you and your surroundings the peace that this world cannot give. He is the only one who can remove evilness of heart and wash away our sins with His precious blood.
Num 12:6-7 'Then He said, "Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant Moses?'Bible tells us of many different methods God used to communicate with human beings. When God created Adam and Eve, He met them in the cool of the day and Proverbs tell us that He enjoyed the presence of human beings. But those things have changed when Adam and Eve sinned against God and ate the forbidden fruit of the tree. The way of communication which was direct between humans and God in person had changed on that day. The reason is that God is so holy that He cannot tolerate any kind of sin and He cannot come where sin is. Though He knew it very well, though He drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, still His heart was longing for fellowship with human beings. Throughout the Bible we read how God spoke to His children by various ways. People could hear the voice of God audibly, sometimes through dreams or visions and sometimes He speaks in a small still voice. And Bible tells us that time and again God spoke with those who walked in His holy ways and those who were willing to do His will. Moses was one of them about whom God said, "I speak with my servant Moses face of face." Moses had direct communication with God just like we talk to our friends. When Moses led the Israelites through the wilderness, we read that people could hear the voice of God as it is written in Deu 5:23-24, "So it was, when you heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes and your elders. And you said: 'Surely the LORD our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. We have seen this day that God speaks with man; yet he still lives."Before Moses led the Israelites, he heard the voice of God first time from the burning bush. That one encounter with God, changed his whole life. In the New Testament also we read about God who spoke and people heard His voice. Bible says in Mat 3:16-17, "When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."When Paul was heading for his destruction campaign against the Christians, he heard the voice of God. We read in Acts 9:3-7, 'As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one.'In the above verses also we read how a notorious person who intended to kill all the Christians turned from his evil ways and gave his life to Jesus when he heard the voice of God. Further we read that Saul's whole life changed and he served Christ whole heartedly. But these were the people in the time of Bible with whom God spoke. Can God speak today also? Can He communicate with today's human beings also? Well, the Bible tells us in Heb 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." If God is the same who spoke to Moses, Adam and Paul, will He not speak to us today? If He does not speak it means that He has changed but the Bible says other wise. Jesus Himself said in John 16:13, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."According to the above verse if you are filled with Holy Spirit, God will speak to you and tell you the things which are about to come. And Holy Spirit will guide into all truth. Many theologians will say that we cannot hear the voice of God anymore. But the same God who spoke from generations to generations will not stop speaking. He still speaks to His Children and communicate with them, guide them and lead them with His divine counsel.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
