Last week I was watching testimony of Joan Pearce in Sid Roth show. She experienced amazing miracle from the Lord Jesus Christ. She was illiterate, homeless and without a job. Moreover she had two sons aged three and ten months old and third was on the way. Hopeless, dejected, broken and completely tired of her life, she with her two sons stood in a phone booth not knowing what to do. There was no one who could help her.In those desperate moments she looked towards heaven and cried out, “God, if you are real… Jesus about whom I learned in my childhood, if you are real, please help me.” And to her surprise she heard an audible voice saying to her, “call the lady whom you just met at doughnut shop.” She was scared and she never expected this type of help from God. But she called that lady and asked her if she could help her finding a shelter. The lady said, “Go and sit at the doughnut shop, I am coming in forty minutes. If you want doughnuts for your kids purchase it and don’t worry about bill.That lady took Joan in her house and gave her shelter. When Joan came back from the hospital after having her 3rd child and when she entered in her apartment, she was completely surprised. The house that was empty without any furniture, food or cloths was completely furnished with all necessary things. Joan inquired the lady about it and the lady replied that, she called many churches and told them that she was not a Christian but here is a woman in need, come and help her.” And the church members came and furnished the house with all necessary goodies. Later Joan accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. God gave her ability to read the Bible and preach the word of God. Now she is very rich and owner of multimillion dollar business. There is a God who helps us in our inabilities. There is a God who helps us hearing our desperate cry. His name is Jesus. When problem comes, fear also comes with it. In fact anxiety does more damage than actual situation. Many sink in deep depression and worry. But is it not in the Bible to cast all our cares upon Jesus for He cares for us, (1 Pet 5:7)? Why worry when Jesus is ready to worry for us? Why allow the fear to enter into our hearts when Jesus cares for us?Once a lady preacher went to Pakistan to preach about Jesus. While she was there preparing for evening meetings, all day organizers were coming to her and saying, sixteen suicide bombers are loose in that area. Then they came and said police caught some but only one or two may be real ones others are still loose.” She was afraid. She was gripped with great fear. Then she remembered the verse from the Bible Psa 27:1, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?” And when she spoke the verses, a great confidence came over her and all fear left her. When we give our needs, worries and fears in the mighty hand of Jesus, He takes care of it. It is possible that you may be at your wits end, today. You may be thinking, “who will help me in this situation?” God can help you. Jesus can help you. No matter what is your situation today, look to Him, He can help you and He will deliver you.
Apostle Paul who is one of the greatest pillars of New Testament and a very effective evangelists of his time. Wherever he went, he stirred up the crowd and gave them reasoning why Jesus is the Messiah. It resulted in conversion of people in large numbers that alarmed Pharisees, Priests and other leaders. Many did not believe and they mocked, persecuted him and rejected the message of Jesus Christ. Paul writes in 2 Cor 4:3-4, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”And also in 2 Cor 3:13-16, “unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.”Last week when I was reading the above passages, I recalled that similar verses are found in Quran. So I checked in the the Quran and found this in Surah 2:7, "God; has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil; and awesome suffering awaits them." Also we read in Quran: Surah 2:10, "In their hearts is disease, and so God lets their disease increase; and grievous suffering awaits them because of their persistent lying." I was amazed reading it. Quran admits what paul said in 2 Cor. 4:3-4. I do not need to elaborate it because it is self-explanatory. But there is only half information in the Quran. Quran does not give any solutions of lifting the veil from the hearts and minds of people. Contrary to it Bible does not stop at the problem of the human hearts but gives a solution for mankind. Apostle Paul says that, "the veil is taken away in Christ." and also "But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.” Bible tells us in Jer. 17:9, that our heart has deadly and incurable disease of sin. And that is the reason why Jesus came in this world to give His life for us. He shed His precious blood on the cruel cross so that we could be cured of our sins and live eternally with Him. But Muslims will say that there is no original sin or God does not need sacrifice to forgive our sins. And most of the Muslims believe that Bible is no longer valid or not the word of God. And Paul is the most infamous person in their eyes. But if Muhammad the founder of Islam could quote Paul's writings, does not it say that Bible is a valid book as well as Paul's writings. Now read what Quran says about it in Sura 2:35-36 & 38-39, 'And We said: "O Adam, dwell thou and thy wife in this garden, and eat freely thereof, both of you, whatever you may wish; but do not approach this one tree, lest you become wrongdoers." But Satan caused them both to stumble therein, and thus brought about the loss of their erstwhile state. And so We said: "Down with you, [and be henceforth] enemies unto one another; and on earth you shall have your abode and your livelihood for a while!" [For although] We did say, "Down with you all from this [state]," there shall, none the less, most certainly come unto you guidance from Me: and those who follow My guidance need have no fear, and neither shall they grieve; but those who are bent on denying the truth and giving the lie to Our messages - they are destined for the fire, and therein shall they abide.'This makes it clear that Adam and Eve sinned and they lost their original state and former glory. And they needed to turn to God in order to get salvation. And Apostle Paul said the same thing in Rom 3:23, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," and in Rom 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."Bible not only tells us about the sinful nature of our hearts but also gives us solution that how we could come out of our sins and live a clean life. Today the salvation or forgiveness of sin is freely available because Jesus gave His life for us. Invite Jesus in your life and He will forgive your sins and will give you eternal life.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
